If Crompton starts against UGA

he didn't want Boyd (looks like a really good choice now) and BJ quit. How did they not get a fair shake?

Yea because the same series of events would happen to Boyd if here were in knoxville.....

What BJ did makes me wish he was our QB even more. It showed he had the brains to see what Kiffin was going to do. He was no where in his plans. I'd quit too, and so should Stephens. It's obvious there's a motive... No one likes to be wrong.... especially know-it-alls.

Boyd is a small, questionable passer with a bum wheel. Not the kind of player you want against SEC defenses. BJ got beat and quit. It's really that simple when evaluating him. The amazing thing is he actually kept playing football after being told (twice) that he wasn't as good as Crompton.

What? Then they should be taken off the field and replaced with someone who will try

Thats the same case no matter what team it is NCAA or NFL. The QB has to show heart first and I just don't think JC has any. If he does and still playing that bad then god help him.

what does heart have to do with ability? If the WR aren't trying (as you say) they should be benched and never see the field again. I'm starting to think they just don't have the talent either

To all the people saying, "you're not a fan if you can't support our team", shut the hell up. Have you ever played sports? Have you ever played for a team with a coach too ignorant to pull an inadequate player....probably not, nor have I. On my teams, when someone sucked horribly they got benched, not coddled. I am a fan through and through, but enough is enough. Crompton sucks, and all those who want to have his back are idiots. Yes, he is "OUR QB", however, he is not a winner and if you support that then you look foolish.
Tennessee is what it is because of the fan base which supports the program so wholeheartedly. People in Tennessee don't cheer for Vanderbilt for a reason, BC THEY LOSE! Now we lose and most fans are extemely unhappy, with the exception of the Cromptonites, "HE IS OUR QB" who are idiots. How much hostility does it take from fans and poor performance on the field from a player to finally decide to put in the backup? For those JC on their knee'ers, the only thing achieved by playing him continually is his life made harder. Give the kid a break, sit him, make his life easier, as well as all of ours. Our player look like they have no heart.
When a leader can't be a leader, the inadequacies trickle down and therefore no one on o looks enthused to play(other than montario).
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH KIFFIN! Either Nick needs to play or we need to run the wildcat(which gained 27 or so yards on 1 attempt).
What he said.

I don't think this is a greatly talented group of receivers but honestly don't think we'll really know with our talent at QB. WR production is inextricably linked to QB play.

In '07 our top three WR's combined for 185 catches and 2181 yards. In '08 with all of them coming back our top three managed 70 catches for 835 yards. Lucas Taylor had that many catches for more yards than that by himself in '07. The overwhelming majority of that dropoff in production was the difference between Ainge and Crompton.

I am just about convinced our receivers have no faith or chemistry in Crompton. They simply don't know what to expect, when they do get open for him they can almost always count on either not being seen by the qb, or having a pass thrown behind them.

Crompton is either too early, too late to throw the pass. When he does throw it at the right time it is almost always either too far in front or behind the receiver. Chemistry is the biggest problem and this starts with the qb.

that's fine but they still need to go out and do their jobs, run proper routes, catch. The amount of balls that hit them in the hands (or chest) and were dropped is crazy.

Exactly. If it hits you in the hands, chest, or helmet, its really not the QB's problem. Yes he is not very good, but our WRs missed plenty of easy catches.

There were around 4 to 5 passes I thought were receivers not making plays. The rest were bad passes that the receiver was given very little opportunity to catch. My biggest problem is the balls thrown behind receivers.

Our receivers are nothing stellar but if we had any resemblance to a consistent qb they would be solid. I believe their biggest problem is not knowing what to expect from Crompton.

This is true, the only exception I would have is for the balls thrown behind receivers, those a very difficult because they require you to swivel the hips and adjust your shoulders before the catch, all in the span of about one second.

Yeah and there were plenty of those!

I thought it hit him in the ear hole but I couldn't see the replay because of the tears in my eyes.

haha..I know. Earhole or face mask, my only hope was that next time the ball would get stuck in his face mask so at least it would be a catch.

I would take one interception over Crompton's EIGHT on the season any day. Some of you are delusional when you watch Tennessee football.

You can see that too? I am amazed.
Stephens played nearly 3 games LY without a pic.
Can't say that about JC.
Delusional they are----and up LK's rear end.

Bingo!--------Everyone isn't blind--after all. :good!:

I will not watch the game. The fans deserve a QB change. Kiffin is being stubborn beyond belief. I have never witnessed a QB play so bad and not get benched. I am speechless. We are literally forfeiting our season. At this point who cares if Crompton never gets his confidence back????? We need a change.

:cray: stfu you female dog

Crompton is terrible and Lane is worse. The AD is sweating this debacle big time.

 i agree w/ you on the Crompton issue, but the Lane and AD comment is stupid. Lane has 12 4 stars for next yr. i don't think the AD is sweating that much

He was 63 for 130. for 830 yards.

3 touchdowns. 4 interceptions.

120 yards per game.

108 qb rating.

That's not delusional, it's fact based. Right now, Crompton is outperforming Stevens. Otherwise, he wouldn't be starting.

I love how know-nothing fans somehow know more than the entire staff at the University of Tennessee.

I am so tired of posters referring to the Wyoming game. Fulmer was fired that week, and the ENTIRE team tanked! That game was not a realistic measuring stick. Tennessee should have been able to line up and run the ball down Wyoming's throat. ENOUGH ALREADY about Stephens and the Wyoming game! What I do remember is Nick playing 2 and a half games with no picks. More than I can ever say about JC. Season is already in the tank, so now what is Kiffin's REAL reason for sticking with Cromp? EGO? QB recruit? Stubborn? NAIVE? wth?

I just watched "It's Time" ---and gentlemen I have to say I have never before seen team unity comparable to what I witnessed in that video. The Vols may not have the most talent in the SEC, but with the coaches and players on the same page, and the effort I expect to be put forth, I see some surprises coming. Exciting stuff!

You the same JohnWardForever.
