If Crompton starts against UGA

You jump to some of the most moronic conclusions.

We made a fine hire.

You should hope that after Urban leaves this year for ND that you can be as lucky as you were when you hired him.

You can come gloat, but next year you'll see a different UT. And your Gators won't have many teeth as you think.

Good luck if Super-Circumsizer doesn't get to play at LSU...

I don't know all that fixgatormoron said since I put him on ignore.. but if timmy t plays in the LSU game it will be very interesting. I think LSU will be gunning for him. So urbie will have to spend lots of big uglie capital protecting to only real asset he has.. tbow. Or... LSU is gonna take his head off. So... I don't see many of those big plays happening that have made him what he is. Unless of course urbie just wants the win at any cost... which wouldn't surprise me all that much. Should be an interesting game. Geaux Tigers!!

There's no getting around that. Very good point. That said, we also almost lost to Ohio with Crompton as the starter and lucked out because an Ohio defender stepped out of bounds while picking up an inexcusable Crompton fumble. Bottom line - Stephens and Crompton each have lost games as the starter that we should have won. At least last year, it seemed that the team rallied around Nick more.

I'd like to see YOU hold onto the ball when you get hit by 3 defensive players... I'm just sayin'

I am so tired of posters referring to the Wyoming game. Fulmer was fired that week, and the ENTIRE team tanked! That game was not a realistic measuring stick. Tennessee should have been able to line up and run the ball down Wyoming's throat. ENOUGH ALREADY about Stephens and the Wyoming game! What I do remember is Nick playing 2 and a half games with no picks. More than I can ever say about JC. Season is already in the tank, so now what is Kiffin's REAL reason for sticking with Cromp? EGO? QB recruit? Stubborn? NAIVE? wth?

And your excuse for NIU?

or perhaps he is the best we have?!?

Every one of these threads should be closed off and ended with the statement: "Divert your frustration to the fact that Crompton and these WR's that are playing are the best alternatives that Fulmer and company left behind!" Its a horribly evident state of just how far our talent level had fallen off under the last staff. Thank goodness talent is coming.

A 5th year SEC QB would have thrown the ball away 2-3 seconds before allowing that siuation to develop. There was no play. Crompton was trying to be a hero and trying to force a play that wasn't there.Freshman mental mistake for a senior QB.

I believe our QB's have been going to bars to celebrate victories before the games start. That's where the problem lies.

They need to just let him run the offense out of the no-huddle/hurry-up all the time because it doesn't give him a chance to think.

He played well in it last night. All our points came out of that offense. I said after the first half that we needed to play no huddle the entire second half. As soon as we went back to it, in the fourth quarter, we took the ball right down the field for another TD.

I will not watch the game. The fans deserve a QB change. Kiffin is being stubborn beyond belief. I have never witnessed a QB play so bad and not get benched. I am speechless. We are literally forfeiting our season. At this point who cares if Crompton never gets his confidence back????? We need a change.

You shouldn't bother watching it anyway. Just dream the game, because you're visions always pan out.
While you're at it, can you dream that Peyton comes back for infinite eligibility? I wouldn't mind $100k either. Just whenever you get around to it.

Guess u will be missing the georgia game. If you got tickets i will take them off your hands! Crompton didn't mess up saturdays game.... Sorry to tell you! GO VOLS

See this is the problem with all the JC bashers. They have the advantage of 20/20 hindsight AND instant slow motion replay. I am not saying that JC is a good quarterback, let me make that perfectly clear.. at least not one that will measure up to ones we have had in the past. However, I think to say he was "trying to be a hero" is a little harsh, and in a way, condescending. Yes maybe he was trying to force a play... but.. I would rather have him fail while trying than to have done something perhaps worse like running out of bounds for a 3-4 yard loss. Give the kid a little credit. He's out there, giving it his best... and while it might not measure up to alot of peoples' standards, the fact remains that he IS our quarterback, and it is counterproductive to bash him at every single opportunity. Also, and it will be my last point. You say that it was a freshman mistake by a senior QB. Again.. cut the kid a little slack, he has had to learn his.. what.. fifth offensive scheme now in his time here? I think that is asking a lot of anybody. I doubt if timmy t or even Peyton would stand out as much as is expected if they had to do that. You can have the last word, but I hope that it is that you will support JC and ALL the VOLS.. I certainly do.

There is more to being a qb than playing well. You must have the confidence of your teamates and leadership ability. There are several examples of qbs with sub par skills who were very successful. Cromptons teamates do not have confidence in him and that dates back to last year. You have to win your own guys over. Its contagious. As far as Nick goes, I say put him in there! I would like to judge for myself just how good/bad he is. Whats the worst that could happen? We lose? Maybe one of you guys with inside connections could poll the players and see who they think should be starting. Coaches coach and evaluate but its been my experience that players/athletes recognize who has it and who don't. Like i stated i don't know if Nick is the answer but I would like to judge it for myself. (insert last years argument here..Wyo etc)

btw..someone looking to make some extra cash, make up some tshirts with the slogan... It Is What It Is. Thats all I have heard the last few weeks and I'm sure you could sell a few.

Kiffin was stubborn with Taj. He was stubborn with BJ. He's being stubborn with Crompton. I can definitely see why BJ left now. Kiffin has no desire to give any QB besides Crompton a fair shake to start since he was named head coach.

Right...That's why we have 7 or so True Freshman that start.

These posts are getting old.. Don't watch the game then.. Stephen's isn't any better..

It's like sticking your finger in a light socket twice to see if the outcome is different..

Same Scenario last year.. I'm glad kiffin is sticking with Crompton.. It's the best option we have...

To all the people saying, "you're not a fan if you can't support our team", shut the hell up. Have you ever played sports? Have you ever played for a team with a coach too ignorant to pull an inadequate player....probably not, nor have I. On my teams, when someone sucked horribly they got benched, not coddled. I am a fan through and through, but enough is enough. Crompton sucks, and all those who want to have his back are idiots. Yes, he is "OUR QB", however, he is not a winner and if you support that then you look foolish.
Tennessee is what it is because of the fan base which supports the program so wholeheartedly. People in Tennessee don't cheer for Vanderbilt for a reason, BC THEY LOSE! Now we lose and most fans are extemely unhappy, with the exception of the Cromptonites, "HE IS OUR QB" who are idiots. How much hostility does it take from fans and poor performance on the field from a player to finally decide to put in the backup? For those JC on their knee'ers, the only thing achieved by playing him continually is his life made harder. Give the kid a break, sit him, make his life easier, as well as all of ours. Our player look like they have no heart.
When a leader can't be a leader, the inadequacies trickle down and therefore no one on o looks enthused to play(other than montario).
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH KIFFIN! Either Nick needs to play or we need to run the wildcat(which gained 27 or so yards on 1 attempt).

Ok, but if you pull Cromp, you have to be fair and pull Hancock who had how many dropped passes? And one hit him in the fricking face mask. Our WR's sucked almost as much as Cromp did Saturday.

I thought it hit him in the ear hole but I couldn't see the replay because of the tears in my eyes.

Crompton just doesn't have what it takes plain and simple the WR are not going to try as hard when they know their QB shouldn't be on the field.

What? Then they should be taken off the field and replaced with someone who will try
