Here is the staff I would like to see next year with Dooley coming back.

Head Coach: Dooley
Offensive Coordinator: Chaney
Quater backs coach: Hinshaw
Running backs coach: Graham
Offensive Line coach: Pittman
Wide Recievers coach: Tee Martin
Tight Ends/Special teams: T.D. Woods
Defensive Coordinator/Safteys Coach: Conklin
Defensive Backs Coach: Ansley
Inside LineBackers Coach: Dale Jones
Outside Linebackers Coach: Staley
Defensive Line Coach: Palmero

I think this would give us a few nice additions and keep stability as well, because if we completely change our scheme on defense again we will fall even further back on defense.

I don't think Tennessee blood has much to do with our on the field success. But having martin would be nice.

Why do you believe Conklin will be calling plays when Dooley said Sunseri will still be calling plays?

First, I read where Dooley would only suggest or sIt in on "defensive meetings. Then I read where Sal would still call the plays. Then I read where Dooley would be calling most plays. Then I read where Conklin would be calling plays. This is just crazy. Would the real DC please stand up on Saturday! I certainly hope so.

I think that we also need some more TN blood in here. If I'm Dooley and I get to be retained. Then I would need Dale Jones for linebackers coach who is the Defensive Coordinator at Appalachian State. and also try my damndest to get Tee Martin in here on the staff, and then just move Hinshaw back to coaching Qbs and let Chaney just call plays, and maybe you just let Ansley be the head DBs coach instead of hiring a safties coach since Conklin would still be on the staff. I also would like to fire Coiner as well our special teams other than CP sucks. I don't know who we could go after at that point.

Why not just hire Jones for DC? After taking a good, long look at the 3-4.... I don't like it. Bama runs it well but really who else? UGA is OK. UF and LSU run a 4-3. USCe/w run a 4-3.

I am trying to think but cannot come up with another elite D that runs a 3-4.

Better coverage
Better returns
Few penalties
Pretty good on fg, overall

Special teams is betters than it has been in a long time.

Individuals kicking have been so-so, but the unit is improved.

I agree. Coiner can't help the fact that Palardy was already here, and Bullock broke his leg. With the things that he can control, they have been much better. In the past our ST (other than the actual kicks) have been a Chinese fire drill. They are pretty solid now.

It couldn't be much worse if Clucko called the plays.

It came straight from Dooleys mouth that Sal WILL be calling plays. Not sure why everyone thinks he isn't. If an update has been made since wednesday then I apologize..

So WHEN he comes back and "IF" we have a good year, winning season, a few signature wins. Will you still be a hater. Ive gone on record as saying if we don't then I will turn to the Dark side like you have. If we do will you change your tune or continue to pontificate.

He has nothing but a record of fail and disaster. If there is a negative record U.T. has Dooley's name is bound to be next to it. He is 0 for a lifetime against ranked teams.......his record is what it is. For the future of Tennessee Football his record says he will never be anything but an average to below the middle of the pack HC. He needs to quit and go be an AD somewhere...he is better suited for it.

This is the S.E.C. and his orange britches are to big for him to fill....and ain't nobody fearing those pants like those stupid t-shirts say...they are laughing at them though!

This shirt is all sorts of FAIL...

Since Safties coach Josh Conklin is going to be doing some of the play calling and actually has coordinator experience more than Sal actually. If Dooley does get retained then it is obvious he needs to fire Sal. If that scenario happens then I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to hire Josh Conklin as our D coordinator for next year and just hire a new Safties coach and linebackers coach. I think we would hurt ourselves even more trying to learn a new system and maybe with a guy who has actually called plays before then maybe we would actually see some improvement.

Our secondary is the worst thing about a HORRIBLE defense. I cant see Conklin leading the whole D when he cant even coach his part! TURN AROUND!!!!!!

I hope no one sees an improvement in our defensive game vs Missouri as a sign that everything is ok. The odds are against a repeat performance of the Troy game, even with no changes regarding Sunseri. The problem cannot possibly be fixed by the changes Dooley has implemented. They could be improved a bit, but there's a lot more to be done that I don't think can be accomplished with our current defensive coaches, regardless of how their duties are shifted around.

It is ridiculous that Dooley has not already fired Sal.

But, that's our Dooley.

dooley is taking charge of the defense the week we play the 112th ranked offense so he can tell you afterwards what a football genius he is.

T.D. Woods and I went to the same H.S..I have already brought up the subject. As of now he got a bit of a bad taste for U.T. right now.

The certainty is that Sal has to go regardless of how the season plays out. I hate to send the program into turmoil by firing Dooley also, but if I was the AD I would make it clear we needed to win these last three games.
