If Clawson Would Have Stayed At Richmond....

I think Dave Clawson had plenty of control in playcalling...

I do however believe his hands were tied on personnel. The love affair with Jon Crompton last year just screams of a FCPF doing.

He hired Scott and Drayton, so that's two staff positon's he hired..

Fulmer hired Drayton days before Clawson came aboard. Did Clawson have a say in it?? Maybe. The fact remains though that the one position coach that was vital in Clawson's offense being a success, he had NO call on.

I think he means, he was given control and look what happened.

Which I agree with.

If Clawson was given control of the offense, then why the heck did it look like it did back in 05?? It looked piss poorly executed by the players with the QB play being horrible.

guess you mean Adkins...

I know we've had differing views, along with Vol Dad, and Rocky Top High, but I hope you all had a great Holiday

It looked as bad, if not worst. Not sure if it was for the same reasons however. I agree with Lofton, the only thing he did not have control over was who played. Especially at QB, Crompton was crowned without competition, which was the biggest mistake. We beat UCLA, AUBURN, and Wyoming with Stephens. But is that what we would have been satisfied with. No, Phil would still be here. And we would be talking about that instead.

Thanks Vol in ar, you too man. Mine was pretty tough. We lost mom in late August and it really hit home on Christmas. My sis came down from Boston and went through a bunch of her stuff to start to clean out the house. I think we've decided to have a yard sale in February & donate the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. It probably won't be much but it's a token on her behalf.

My son got loaded up on a better note, and it trying to put together this monster Star Wars lego ship in the floor as I type this, lol. If I'd have known it would have kept him this busy I'd have bought him one months ago!

Hope you guys had a good one too....now back to our regularly scheduled bitching about Fulmer & Clawson.....

Sorry for your loss.

It is most difficult around the holidays. Keep your head up, things will get easier to deal with in time.
