After todays play, Jarrett Guarantano makes this team 1 dimensional. With Dormandy in, Kelly in the back field, there is at least a threat of a pass. If Dormandy was in the game today we probably win that game, with no turnovers, 45-15. If CBJ didn't start JG because he knew this, does that make him a better coach, or does that make some of you guys dumb fans? Losing to SC is like sleeping with a fat chick, wake up the next morning, what have i done!!

Lol... The backup QB and the next coach are always the savior.... even when the backup looked like garbage 2 weeks ago.

I didn't see anything from JG that tells me he's a championship or even a competent SEC Qb.

You should just delete this thread. First off, his name is DORMADY. Second, he has been a turn over machine since GT game. O Line play wasn't very good today, JG did hold the ball in the pocket a little to long at times, but it for sure doesn't make the team 1 dimensional. JG showed me a lot on that last drive, gutsy play for the youngster. Keep him in there, he is the future and is only going to get better as time goes on.

EDIT: Doesn't help that the offensive play calling isn't very creative. Almost every 3rd down play in the first half was a roll out pass and the D knew it every single time.

IMO no QB is going to overcome Butch's system as coached and called. And, sure, I'd liked to see them win it, but at the same time it doesn't matter. You can't give GA a game or put away UMass, so you're not competitive enough to even threaten to win the SECE. what's the point......its broke.

As an aside I think QD and JG are good QBs. Just not in this system, it isn't working here.

You guys are straight up nutty. This guy gave use what we've needed; a running threat in a read option offense. The o-line is where you should be looking to bad mouth some 18-23 year-olds.

The bottom line is you’re not going to win too many games in the SEC with a freshman QB, 2 starters on defense out, best big play threat out, and your All American KR out. TN is just not a good FB team this year. I think they have the pieces in place(players)and with some new leadership and a OC who has the autonomy to call plays suited to your personal, offense, and league you play in they have enough talent to win. Been a Butch supporter but I think we can do better.

Good post. Saban adopted a West Coast offense and has evolved over time.

Butch took a simplistic MAC offense, that is simple but stagnant, and imposed it on the premier football conference in the country.

That's the essence of the problem.

You can preach all you want to about players being out, but this is YEAR 5!!! The depth to make up for that should be there. Talent isn't the issue with this team, it's the coaching.

I thought JG was being held back by the play calling. He held the ball to long at times but also he wasn't getting the best protection.

Its a tough argument between Dormady or JG. But based off of the way JG looked when running (not good at all) , Id take Dormady
