why would he not have already taken the UW job?I predict whoever is approached first will decline. And yes Kiffen wants Washington as his #1 gig. He's from the West Coast and had already established himself there. Don't forget UW used to be a powerehouse so who's to say Kiffen can't turn it back into one like USC?
I Agree:thumbsup:I remember when Gruden took the Bucs to the Super Bowl and the media did a story about how the man wakes up at 3:30am every morning to go to work. Makes me feel real lazy for hitting the snooze button 5 times every morning at 5:30. I hope he will be waking up in Knoxville next fall.
I have reservations about people like Chris Peterson (Boise). He can coach an exciting offense, but not sure he can recruit the south.
i dont think kiffin can get the job done, look what he did for oakland.that is just my thought so please dont throw any stones at me thanks
the two bolded pieces make no sense in the same thought.I see what you are saying. For one, the SEC is not the PAC 10. Big Game Pete has not prepared him for the pressures of the SEC venues. No PAC 10 stadium (with exception to the noise level at Oregon) compares to the volume and atmosphere of most of the SEC venues.
Avoid muschamp---his defenses have gotten torched this year, even with top talent. Plus, he's a loose cannon on the sideline and would blow a gasket when a player screws up.

However, I also don't consider the Oakland Raiders a true coaching job. His hands were tied and that was a bad situation. However, I think that he came out of that looking better because of the strange things that Al Davis pulled on him. Jury is still out on his coaching abilities.
then who else would be a leading candidate?
I think that Brady Hoke (Ball State) is doing a good job with a limited resources-type program.
Bronco Mendenhall (BYU) has turned their program around.
Chris Peterson (Boise) has been mentioned on several posts.
Will Muschamp (Texas) also has been mentioned.
Would love to hear what other names we can speculate about.
