As the 2016 football season approaches I can't help but wonder what will be our football "identity" this year? Will we be a heavy run team again? Will our passing attack finally come to fruition? Will we be a run stuffing defense or will we be known as QB sack 101? I just can't help but wonder what our new DC will bring to the table or if Dobbs will improve. Last year we all thought that we were going to lead the SEC in sacks but we barely had as many as the previous year. We thought Dobbs would improve but he didn't. But with the addition of CMD our running game improved. It's just so hard to predict from year to year. So what will be our football "Identity" this year?

Running on offense with Hurd, Kamara, and Dobbs. I don't see Dobbs improving his downfield passing much.

On defense, I see us being very disruptive up front attacking the QB.

Same as last year. Dobbs isn't going to become Peyton manning in an off season. Hope there's a semblance of a downfield passing attack but not getting my hopes up. Strong defense, strong special teams and a strong running game. Passing attack would be icing on the cake.

Hopefully Dobbs can just become accurate from 20 yards in. We don't need to hit bombs every play, we just need to quit the sideline screens. Slants, Curls, Out routes is all we need to keep the defense honest.

The thing that kills me on so many of those missed deep balls is the check down is normally wide open, and is normally Hurd. Give Hurd 5-7 yards of no contact to build up speed and watch him bowl over the D

Hopefully he doesnt become Manning, and can lead us to victory over the gators finally.....

I know these plays weren't always productive, but it opened up our inside run game. Not every play is called to score a touchdown.

Our opponents now have stacks of film of our 'O' so we need to change our identity to that of a balanced attack similar to that of NE Patriots(using a regulation ball off course).

To be fair, a lot of the sack production was supposed to come from Maggitt last year. Also, with Maggitt out, it took DB about half the season to adjust to being the opposing team's main focus.

I'm not superstitious, and rarely make any sort of prediction on a win before a game is played---too many things can go terribly wrong. But . . . this is the year our guys finally beat the lizards. Dobbs has given about all he can to the passing game, i.e. his passing skills have topped out. However, we finally have all the pieces necessary compete athlete-to-athlete with the reptiles.

We do not yet have the depth of roster and depth of experience needed overall, but 2016 will be a "leap year" for our young men who don the orange and white.

Dobbs passing should continue to improve as well as his ability to read defenses

All we may need is a coach:)

Hopefully they make it out of this storm unscathed. I think they could use all of this bad publicity and energy and turn it into "Us vs the world" which is actually a strong catalyst for competitive teams.

One good "They hate you, they hate me" speech from Peyton before a big game would probably be enough for a 56-0 win over somebody this season.

Last year we saw our O evolve under DeBord and buTch and became a tough running team that was hard to stop.

This year we'll evolve even more with Dobbs under center more to let AK and Hurd build up some steam more before they get to the line.

That will also further help confuse the D against us.

I also believe our quick passing game will get much better and that our TE's will be much more involved to keep the chains moving.

That will draw the S's down into the box more and if Dobbs can hit just 2 or 3 deep balls down the field every game that opens up everything much more.

We had TE's open a lot last year and I think Dobbs will be taught to look for them more this season before he takes off running.

On our D a lot will depend on how fast King Tut can get back but our front will be cut loose to push the front more while looking to stuff the run and we'll blitz lots more to keep constant pressure on their O line and QB.

I expect our Sacks, forced fumbles and INT's to all go up this season.

Shoop loves to create never ending, relentless pressure the entire game to force more mistakes so we can take advantage of them.

By nature the best D players love to be cut loose and be aggressive and D players love playing for a DC like Shoops.

I think that's a big reason why JRM and Sutton came back for their last year as a Vol.

Buckle up and hang on folks because this is going to be a really fun season to watch.

Climbing up the rankings WIN by WIN...VFL...GBO!!!
