I'd play George MacIntyre

Love Aguilar. He did great for us…but since playoffs are out of reach…why not start allowing George some reps the rest of the season. Get him some good experience. But of course we have Merklinger as #2…so maybe rotate them in games. I just know Merk will be leaving but you can’t skip over him either. I just really don’t know how we dropped this game like we did. Piss poor performance. Born in the 80s, knew the 90s Vols and we don’t lose this game back then.
I am still thankful for Aguilar. Better than Nico ever thought about being.

Why do you not trust Heupel to get a QB ready to start with 3 weeks of practice and an actual game against a powderpuff? Why won't you answer the question?

Huepel may have some faults as a coach but getting a QB ready isn't one of them. Stop deflecting. Just go ahead and say it...

I was right. And your a troll

Oh boy. You aren't that bright.

Please tell me where in that comment I said "Josh Heupel is on the hot seat"....

Saying "could have a warm seat" is not the same. My goodness I really do need crayons for yall.
🙄 That's what you were radiating, and you know it. Please don't tell me the strategy of yours is to pretty much call us ret*rds because we call you out on some BS that you're somehow STILL defending! You're saying pretty much waste out playing a teenager! We can't afford to lose against an, and I'll agree with you on this, exceptionally weak Gators team, and a Vanderbilt team that is okay at best!

I said his seat could get warm if next season has shaky QB play and we are in the same boat as we currently are in. I literally said why his seat “could be” warm.

No where have I said that he is anywhere close to being on the hot seat.

I could be rich IF i win the lottery.

A 3 loss team isn't contending for a national title bud. Tennessee has zero shot at making the playoff nor should anyone expect that.

In regards to apathy, going into the offseason with no idea on how the most important position on the team is going to shake out is going to cause hella uncertainty and dread.

If we are in the same position this time a year from now, I'm sure everyone is going to be saying they are happy with the idea of not seeing what these guys were made of with live reps this year.

That sir is how apathy sets in. If they show flashes, Heupel has something to look forward too all off season. Similar to how Nico played in the bowl game. And for the record, I was saying the exact same thing 2 years ago after we lost to Bama. Sit Milton and play NIco the rest of the way because he is a 5 star and he is the future for the 2024 season. We could have found out a lot of his issues much sooner and adjusted.

Not true. It is incredibly small and unlikely. There is still a possibility.

We literally lost our 5* QB in April and replaced him and got better at the position which caused significantly more dread than going into next season with an unknown at QB. 75% of FBS teams are going to into January with an unknown at QB.

What you are saying about the bowl game is completely different than what you are suggesting. If you want Mac to play in a bowl game over Joey, nobody will have a problem with that. Suggesting we should intentionally throw away the next 3 games so we can see if a third string QB can play next year sets a very bad precedent that you do not want to go down. George is going to be good or he is not. He can get bowl practice reps, a bowl game, Spring reps, Fall Camp and Furman before Tennessee plays anyone of consequence.

Also, you are assuming that the experience will do nothing but good for G-Mac. That's not necessarily true. If he's a complete disaster, you could ruin his confidence forever. If he gets hurt, if he gets benched. Not all experience is good experience.

And by the way, Nico playing in November after Bama would not have made him a better QB. It could have made him worse, and we miss the playoffs in 2024. And you are ignoring what it could potentially do to the locker room. I'm not sure Arion Carter would be thrilled playing on turf toe in a big SEC game so he can come back and Heupel admit the season doesn't matter anymore.

Too bad you won't. Also, spelling error, so make sure you watch it before calling us "not so bright"

How do you tell Josephs, Eason, Bailey, Hood, Heard, Kitz, Brazzell, etc to go play their best when you’re playing for next year? You gonna let them sit too? Hell, why play the game then?

Only a troll would think JH is on the hot seat. The bet still stands if JH starts Merk or Mac in any of these games (outside of injuries) I will stop posting on here. If you believed your drivel you would take the bet.
If Heupel starts anyone over a healthy JA he will lose the locker room. He has a young football team and he wants to keep most of these guys on campus. Benching your popular starting quarterback to work on next year is beyond stupid.

Those guys are getting paid to be here. There is nothing of significance to play for. Brazzell should 100% opt out these final 3 games to protect his draft status. Jermod McCoy can attest to that. Same thing with Colton Hood. We just played a game where we multiple defensive linemen get injured. Josephs has upped his draft stock this season and got banged up vs OU. He should shut it down too to protect his pro prospects.

This is a business decision.

So you’re going to Fla with about 50 of your top 70 players? Ok. Good luck.

Are you really going to be upset if some of these guys who are considered draft picks decide to opt out?
During the season? Yes. There’s no “if necessary” listed after each reg season game. They’re paid to play the season not just until someone says they’re outta playoff contention.

If they opt outta the bowl game, no.

Now, answer my question. You’re going to Fla with 50 of your top 70?

I have zero problem spending the next 3 weeks letting the guys who are going to be here next year get first team reps. I, unlike a lot of you, trust Heupel's ability to get guys ready to play. Especially considering it would be 3 weeks of practice plus a pay for game against a C-USA 3 win team.

I for one don't understand why so many people think Heupel apparently is incapable of getting his guys ready.... It is really amazing.

So you’re thinking Freshman DL are gonna replace 5 & 6 yr DL in strength z& experience in 3 weeks? You’re not thinking.

If a guy is gonna transfer out because the QB room is gonna be crowded and he hasn’t gotten a shot at all, I’d rather see what he can do and see if he is worth making an offer to stay.

We aren’t gonna roll into 2026 with Merk, Mac, and Faizon with virtually zero experience.

Instead it will Ibe Mac and Faizon and Heupel going portal shopping for a QB.

I just find it idiotic to not see what we have with Merk in the 3 meaningless games we have left to see if he might be someone who could be successful in Heupel’s system. Especially since the current QB has no eligibility left.
From what little I seen of Merk, I don't think he is the guy. I rather see what Mac has. However, I agree at least one of them should have lots of playing time the next 3 games, but I don't see that happening.
