I would like to see more Keller

I know you want to believe that, but it simply isn’t true. The reality is that JG simply doesn’t see the field well. Can that improve, sure. But that offense ran much more efficiently with Chryst in the game and noticeably calmer. I will also add that the myth that JG is a dual threat QB who can extend plays is finally dead. So I think Chryst still deserves a shot.
Man, it was mop up. It was 3rd and 4th string for etsu. Bad assessment

Not true. They had a 2000 yard rusher is why there winning. Also, they had 4 first round d lineman. Trust me it wasn’t KC. He only had 980 yards last year and the worst passing effiency in pac 12. Below average
Quote the right guy? 🤨

Guys it's not about who is better because we don't know what chryst can do yet, it's about giving chryst a shot against the next team and then comparing to JG. That's what I'd like to see. We need to see what's our best choice vs Florida. Why would this hurt anything lol

We don't need to see or determine anything. That's why we have a football staff to do just that. Pitbthe best product that they can on the field. That's why JG is the starter.

He will get his shot. With our pitiful O line JG is going to get beaten like a cheap drum when we hit the meat of the schedule. I like JG a lot - the kid is tough.

He survived the beating last year, what would make you think he wouldn't this year? Most don't want him to succeed anyway. 71% completion percentage and 152 An rating atillbisnt good enough I guess.

It's pretty basic I think... IF (that's IF) JG goes down, we should have someone with playing time with this team ready to lead... not a difficult position to support, and not a counter argument for JG being the No1 guy. So, I hope Chryst gets a lot of snaps next week.

So when KC is QB you have a 2000 yard rusher and linemen that go pro. And you win games. Why is that bad, again?

If he was so good, he would STILL be the starter at Stanford and not have left. Costello beat him out and he would have got mop up duty snaps. Here he came to comepete for the starting job and was beat out by JG. It's not difficult math.

Rushing yards and going Pro are due to recruiting and player development which are coaching duties. Nothing to do with the QB. In 2013, we had Stone and James go Pro, but what does that have to do with Worley?

The year after Peyton left we won the NC, but what does that have to do with Peyton???

I actually liked what I saw when Keller was in...hopefully, he'll get some more time in the second half against UTEP...and,

GO VOLS!

That’s some good science, for sure! You from Keller in north Texas?
Nope. If I have a favorite in the QB race, it is the preferred walk on from Georgia whose father played pro ball. He is not even listed on the roster.

Just want to temper the folks here who think winning is unimportant. Or more precisely, that a QB has nothing to do with it outside of the QB rating...

Maybe a little consideration of the role the QB plays in the run game would help. Manning was decent at that, even here.

You will never get me onboard with this, "Winning is unimportant" theme.

Strawman argument. Chryst was on Stanford’s campus four years and netted 11 wins. You’ve pumped up a percentage slightly over 3 wins per as a Herculean effort. You keep citing that Love and those OL were beneficiaries of his part time effort? What about that San Diego State loss? That what you want for my Vols? PASS! And by that I don’t mean a Chryst mortally wounded duck!

Gotcha. Tee Martin was a better QB than Peyton Manning at TN then. Yea, your logic makes all the sense in the world.

BTW; there is NO QB race. The race has ended and a winner was already declared.

Well JG is not the best.....he looks halfway decent. If line was better he would look better of course. Let's see if chryst looks better. Nothing to lose because our next opponent is garbage. I'm just saying while we have one scrub team left why not let Chryst get a shot man.
Kind of funny your name perfectly describes why you’d want Keller to get more reps. JG has improved immensely from last year

Keller is better. JG under throws almost every deep ball. Flame all you want.

Keller had all Spring to beat out JG for the QB spot and didn’t do it.

If Pruitt thought he’d be the better QB, wouldn’t he be playing more instead of handing the ball off in garbage time?
