"I Won't Pick Tennessee over Florida..."

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight......

But I HOPE you are actually correct.

I know there are questions for many but I look it at like this.
I don't think Florida will be really weak this year like some believe, but I also see no reason they will be better.
I believe our team will.
You add the difference in DC calls, I feel we pull it off.
I don't think the too conservative debate will be needed because I'm hoping it's not the deciding factor in this game. But a couple of the others, maybe.

Oh, and this is nothing more than a gut feeling but..
I believe we see a VFL34 kinda performance from Hurd.
Just a plain and simple "I've heard about all the sh#* I feel like hearing from you" Jordan dunking on Mutombo and shaking the finger determination.

Idk why but it bugs me when people say "Fans have to have confidence" in reference to people being realistic. I get that we are just fans and trash talking is part of the sport, but there is a difference to me between being overly confident and just having a realistic perspective of the situation.

I am plenty confident in Team 120 and have said we will go 10-2 and win the East multiple times, and yet people probably consider me a Nega-Vol just because I believe our two losses are to Florida and Bama. After the constant stream of choke jobs I have seen against Florida, and just bad luck, I legitimately have to see us beat them to believe it. And there is nothing wrong with that.

The notion that you HAVE to be a sunshine pumper to be a real fan is ridiculous. Would you all consider D4H a real fan, even though his essentially on record as stating he is bandwagon and only comes around when we are good, just because he has a relentless perception of us going back to back in 2016 and 2017 and winning Natty's?

Florida will have one of the best defenses in the country, but Tennessee will have a better offense, should be a real slug fest for team 120
Go Vols

I don't see that at all based on how they finished last season (and I think they will miss Hargreaves and Neal more than anyone is talking about). Michigan had over 500 yards of total offense including 225 on the ground.

I'm not saying they will be bad on defense, I just think some posters here are getting carried away with some hyperbole.

...and there is equally nothing wrong or unrealistic with anyone thinking that Tennessee will beat Florida at home this year. Also, has it really been "a constant stream of choke jobs" or has it just been the last two? From 2005-2013, Florida was for the most part, clearly the better team.

I said choke jobs and bad luck. In 2011 at Florida we were poised to go down there and finally beat them. We had the better team arguably, and one of the most prolific UT offenses in history and then BOOM Justin Hunter goes down with a torn ligament on our first or second possession.

It's been a steady stream of choking and bad luck. Which is why when you combine the two, I have to see it happen first.

I predict a win but I don't count on it. We have found a way to screw it up the last couple years. Need get the monkey off of the Vols back this year.

Sure, losing Hunter in 2011 without even being hit was bad, so was the questionable roughing the passer call that brought back a pick six in '06 but that's just part of the game... I can't agree that Tenn had the better team in '11. We certainly didn't have the most prolific offense in UT history that year. They scored 7 points or less in 5 of their last 7 games following Worley's hand injury vs Georgia.

Excuse me, I'm getting 2011 and 2012 mixed up. All the Dooley year's just sort of blend together at this point. But the point about Hunter remains. Bad luck and choking has mixed to make any Florida game have doubt. We SHOULD beat Florida this year. We SHOULD have beat them the last two years, but we didn't.

And people can call me a Nega-vol for holding this one opinion, but I think there is plenty of evidence out there that we have reason to be cautious when discussing beating Florida.

It's not what it's cracked up to be. I was called a Negavol for wanting fans to wear orange to the game.

Jump higher Vols.

We all must remind ourselves, this is a new saga in Tennessee football. New coaches, new players. The Tennessee of old would make this season an 8-4 season, but I truly believe we have everything in place to repeat the 2001 season with a different outcome in the sec title. The move to get bob shoop is what is going to take us to the top. He is our first top flight, proven, DC since the early years of chavis. I'm so excited
