I wonder what the Cincy fans are saying now?

In the few posts I read the bearcat fans recognized that their team and their conference are far inferior to the Vols and the SEC in general which was refreshing to read. Too often, the media and fans outside the south quickly discount the SEC and it's players. Even though the SEC has won five straight BCS titles, Oklahoma is voted #1. Even though the SEC has more players in the NFL than any conference, no SEC players were included on the preseason Heisman radar. Prejudice is rampant and some things will never change ... geez!

Go Vols !!!

We will take the BCS titles and they can have the heisman. i see that as a fair trade

tons of their fans were calling their players bad names and rolled out.... and basically quit cheering for their team.... go vols :)

Where were you? It sounds like we were sitting in the same area. I was in Q.

We sit in P and saw some of the action in Q with the Cincy guys. Most of their fans we saw went about their business and did not interact with Vol fans.

They aren't giving us any credit that's for sure, just got done reading one of their forums. All you see is them saying we are a middle of the road SEC team who isn't projected to finish high in our division, and that the only reason we won is because their coaching was terrible. No mention of how well Bray, Hunter, or Rogers played.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. A football team is almost never as bad as the fans think after a tough loss and is never as good as the fans think after a good win.

I think our team is a middle of the road SEC team at this point. LSU, Bama, Florida, Arky and South Carolina are better than the Vols. UGA, Auburn, MSU are probably about even with the Vols and Vandy, UK, Ole Miss are bringing up the rear.

My next door neighbor is a Cincinnati grad and we had been talking good natured trash all week. Post game, I thought he had a reasonable take on the game. He thought their starting 22 were able to play with UT through the first half but our depth, speed and tenacity were too much for the Cats... He predicts good things for us the rest of this season and great things next year for the Vols.

I will say I had great experiences with the Cinncinatti fans. A man and his wife came to see the vol walk and then set next to my family and I when the band came down. He was very complementary and said at that time he had been having a great experience. When the Southland band was playing Rocky Top on the march in the fan and his wife started singing Rocky Top and cheered right along with us. It was awesome.

Wanted to thank you guys for being so hospitable to us. Had a great time and met a lot of good UT fans (And honestly not a single jerk). The guys in front of us talked with us the whole game and asked about our program and were pretty knowledgable. I'll be pulling for you guys in the future and hope you start it by whipping Florida Saturday. I was really impressed with your squad and think you will surprise some folks this year and could be really special next season. Best of luck.

I was happy with our offense for the most part, except for the short yardage situations that really did kill us. The downside of the spread and where we have struggled often. Was not big on some of the play calls we made and our coach definitely made some mistakes there (Seemed like we slowed our pace down for some reason, maybe to rest the defense). Our inexperienced WRs have talent, but had some big drops as well.

Did not like our defensive gameplan, though I understand why they tried what they did. Blown assignments galore it seemed. I expected our D-line to at least get some pressure on Bray, but no dice. The few times we blitzed, you guys picked it up nicely. Didn't rotate many guys in and by the 2nd half, our defense seemed tired (And demoralized).Would have liked to see them send the house a few times and try to rattle Bray. I'm guessing there is no need to wash his uniform this week as it is still cleaner than clean...LOL

You guys definitely had a ton of speed as expected, but your youngsters seem to be progressing quickly. Honestly if I was Dooley, I would drop back and throw it a ton early on and loosen up the defense and then run Poole and Lane when they are on their heels. Best of luck and thanks for the warm welcome.
