Those Jeopardy skits were classic. But, showing my age, I still like the original cast best. :)

I don't think I appreciated Norm McDonald at the time, but he was a funny dude.

I thought he was great as a weekend update anchor (it might have helped that he was such in the middle of the OJ simpson trial).

The original cast and the original replacements were by far the best, but there have been a lot of good skits though the years since then. The Jeopardy skits being ranked right up there.

I remember two skits in particular from the inaugural season.

The first one being one that they dubbed over a Jimmy Carter speech and made it sound like he was talking about his hemorrhoids. My mom walked in about the time it started and thought it was real. She couldn't believe the President was talking about things like that on TV. Of course us kids were in tears laughing, but trying not to let on that it wasn't real.

The second one was the "The last Supper" skit. It was so horribly funny (I still feel bad to this day that I thought it was that funny) that of course us kids were dying laughing. My mom once again walks in (really bad timing), just to see what all of us kids are laughing so hard about.......this might be a good time to point out that my dad was a "hell, fire and brimstone Baptist Preacher and that my mom was (if not more so) every bit as religious as him......well, long story short, we were told we were never to watch that satanic show again.

It didn't stop us. We just learned to be more careful after that.

Those two were great. I don't know how I got away with watching the show back then, but I did. Another from the early years that always stuck in my head were the sketches during the Three Mile Island scare.

So I hear Neyland Stadium (as well as other Knoxville locations) are being featured in a movie?
