LSU is last in the league 23/23 times in the red zone, the opponent has scored. However, as suspected, they have also allowed the fewest trips in to the red zone. the next fewest trips in to the red zone allowed is 28 by both TN and Bama, who have both allowed the opponent to score 25 times each.
all that tells me, LSU's d is pretty good.....FWIW.
ah, i'd rather do that than work anyway.thanks for getting the stats for me on a monday in which i was just way too lazy to look them up.
Except for that one where they are 12th. Again, let me emphasize the part about me never calling them bad. Just don't want him.
that's fine, but i'd hardly say he's just not f'd it up.Once again I am not picking on their D per se, so much as saying I would not want him as head coach. Last I checked they were supposed to be really good. What he has done is not F the situation up other than the UK game, as I said, not shooting for good next time.
I think they have a very good D, but it has underachieved. Slice it how you wish, but allowing UK to come back in that ballgame was just poor.well.. then.
They are only giving up 65 yards on the ground and 168 yards through the air. No matter how you look at it, those are some d*** good stats.
that might matter if defenses were playing against each other. they're not.
they are however, playing against virtually the same offenses week in and week out and thus far, no one has defended those offenses better than LSU in what matters most, as stated previously.
so now LSU's d is no better than the best Pac 10 d.I think they have a very good D, but it has underachieved. Slice it how you wish, but allowing UK to come back in that ballgame was just poor.
Back to the point, being best D in the SEC this year is comparable to the similar PAC-10 award.

if they were 3rd or 4th in the leauge in all that, i might agree with your assessment of "good" not "great".
but the fact that they lead the league in all those categories is impressive, cause to me those are the stats that matter. it's not just that they allow the fewest yards or whatever....what they do is what defense is supposed to do:
1. Prevent the other team from scoring
2. get the ball back for your offense
and they do it better than anyone else in the league.
