I wanted to win yesterday just as bad as anyone... but when the game was over i felt relieved knowing that before you know it we won't have to put up with this frustration.

Who has said they've quit on the Vols? I haven't heard anybody said that. I've heard ppl quit on Fulmer, but not on being a Vols fan. I'm rly gettin tired of hearing this crap. Nobody has quit being a Vols fan and nobody has lost their support.

I don't think it is a matter of quitting on the team. It is more the fact the current coaching staff is not getting it done on the field. I love the VOLS win or lose but I am not really a big fan of the coaches or Crompton right now. :frown:

"Jumping ship" - based on the literal meaning of jump ship ( to leave a ship without permission while it is temporarily in a port in the middle of a trip)

I don't see this happening. If fans were "jumping ship" then they wouldn't be angry or care about lack of coaching or poor QB play. What I do see is fanbase that is extremely passionate about their football team and is not going to accept the image and tradition of the program to be tarnished any more. I've been a fan for a long time. I remember Willie Gault, Reggie White, Dale Jones, Dale Carter, Tony Thompson, Jeff Powell and Keith Davis. I've not missed a season without seeing at least one game in Knoxville since 1985. I've travelled all over the country to see the Vols. Road games, SECCGs, and Bowl games. I've spent a small fortune on tickets, concessions, shirts, gas, caps, and anything orange. This will not change and I suspect I am no different than most people on this board. Just because I am sick and tired of mediocre play and lackluster effort doesn't mean I am "jumping ship".

In fact, I would go out on a limb here and say that I care more about the state of the program than people like yourself who are indifferent about our coaching situation and refuse to acknowledge the problem. Just because we don't support the coach doesn't mean we don't support the team. Don't confuse the two.

I don't think it's that people are protecting Fulmer because they think he's not doing anything wrong. I think people are protecting Fulmer because he's done SO MUCH RIGHT in his career. Yes, it sucks that he's hitting a decline in his career. Yes, it is time to find a new HC.

No, we should no disrespect Fulmer because he has made some fantastic achievements in his career concerning our football program.

Hey, what crawled up your leg? Have you noticed the amount of posters, at any given time, on this board? Just because we are frustrated with the state of things, doesn't mean we are jumping ship. The whole basis for boards like this is for the fans to vent. That could be in good times and bad.
