How we can beat a good team with a talented QB, a very talented secondary and speed everywhere on their team and our own people are still hatin'!! I know what I saw the last 5 years happen to our program and it was nothing like what I saw tonight!! Dooley has turned around a program that was a POS 3 years ago!! Didn't like the 3 and 1 call in first half but other than that we are a badazz football team with the potential to beat anyone!! Might not win every game but at least we can have confidence now knowing we can compete!! Coach Dooley I apologize on behalf of the Vol Nation!!

If it's any consolation, a lot of our fans are acting like our season is over because we lost the season opener to Tennessee. :loco:

Happens every time we get our first loss. Really annoying.

You lost to a very good SEC team. Nothing to be ashamed of. You guys will tear the ACC up. Very impressed with Glennon.

It was our first game and we made first game mistakes, mostly on defense and communication. That will improve game by game. This game easily should've been a blowout. We have a good team guys. It was a lot of fun last night in the dome. A lot of the fans around me were sensing the beginning of something potentially special.

It would've been much better for us had the refs decided ncstate actually committed holding. They were dragging our front seven down from behind the whole game and no call. I love what I saw from our team. Chaneys calls are a little suspect still, but our D settled in, made adjustments and did a hell of a job! GO VOLS!!

We would be in full meltdown here too had we lost. Good luck to you the rest of the year.:salute:

No offense hun, but you sing this tired old song every year. Nobody needs you or anybody else apologizing on their behalf. Do you really think CDD has time to get on VN and get his "feelings hurt" by fans' comments?

Please.

I'm not so sure what people are so upset about either. I've been as critical of Dooley as almost anyone, but didn't find much to gripe about last night. Sure, there were things, Palardy in particular, that had a SSDD kind of feel to it. But at the end of the day, we won in the GA Dome for the first time in over a decade. Now, barring some sort of unspeakable calamity next week, we can look forward to the UF game being one of the biggest and loudest games we've had at Neyland in a LONG time. That's good enough for me right now.

Give him an extension so he can really show the SEC how to recruit.

And I won't understand how this forum believes one win makes this team God's gift to college football and all of national media needs to drop everything and spend hours on hours talking about. I'm very happy and pleasantly surprised at the play and outcome of the game, but 7-5 is still not out of the question for this team, believe it or not. This team is going to have work for everything it gets, and despite popular belief, nothing is OWED or anything of the sort to it.

I agree completely i saw several nc state linemen grabbing orange jerseys and nothing being called.but my wife sure knew it when no flags were thrown on state because i was yellin at the big screen.

Some questionable play calling was really the only negatives I could see. Some guys out of position early, and but they turned up the heat and it was a great sight.

I like seeing a fired up head coach. Not sure if he is the guy, and but he sure wants to be. That should mean something.

And having playmakers on the field again is a great sight. It actually felt like a Tennessee football game.

Bravo Coaches and players.
