A whole lot of you don't come close to even understanding that.


JG has lived it and is living it. All the scrutiny. All the pressure. The broken hand.


The guy still laces them up every week and gives his all for UT. He should be applauded. His stats will never be what we want. His decisions can be questioned. His talent can easily be doubted.

But this dude has lived what most fans claim to want from their players.

Give the dude some respect. He's not good. Probably won't ever be. But he keeps showing up.

He's a Volunteer in every sense of the word.

You of all people should know just because we have respect for him personally (his toughness and grit especially) doesnt mean we have to think he is our best option at QB or that he is above a LOT of justly deserved criticism for poor play in clutch moments. If JG was playing how he SHOULD play we would be about to have a 7-2 record.

I never said he shouldn't be criticized. Dude isn't consistent. He doesn't have all the talent. He makes poor decisions.

But for all those issues, dude just keeps showing up. That's the kind of stuff you give respect for. I have criticized the coaches mercilessly for starting and playing him.

I have a large amount of respect for the guy as a competitor. He lives our mantra. He lives it. I'm proud he's a Vol, whether I want him on the field or not.

Tough kid for sure. CJP feels that he is the best option for reasons that are not currently clear so best we can do is support him I guess.

What would you have said about Coach Pruitt if on one of those hits JG would have broken the other hand.
What would all of volnation be talking about right now.
Well, much wouldn't be said about JG's toughness but everyone would be questioning Pruitts coaching decisions. I mean this site would be burning Pruitt and how.
It was a dumb decision to play JG tonight imo. Tonight was the perfect game to let us watch JT and Maurer show off their skills but no, no, coach would rather take a chance getting JG injured even worse.
Anyone knows that if are getting knocked to the ground you brace yourself with your hand. It's natural.

Even more reason that JT should have at least get most of the 1st half reps. I do not understand why JT was yanked twice in this game and not given enough chance to lead the team. Pruitt as others have posted, has a much shorter leash for JT’s mistakes than Jg.

He's not good enough to give his all for Tennessee according to some fans. It's really sad.

JG would transfer to Rutgers in a heartbeat, ‘specially if Butch is hired. Kid just ain’t got “it”.

Sounds more like a shop project than a surgery. Must've been a heck of a break.

Look - let’s don't sugar coat it - I will say it if no one else will. He is a 2 out of 10 as a Sec quarterback. He’s not good. I can make a case that he is really bad, and the primary reason we have been so bad in games he has started.

He doesn’t understand the offense, releases the ball late, can’t find receivers, has awful pocket presence, is crazy slow footed, has a long, long deliberate motion and release which causes accuracy problems and hurts his receivers. He is one of the worst quarterbacks in the history of the program. Not his fault - I am sure he is a great person.

The entire tempo of the offense slowwwwssss down when he is in the game. It’s insufferable to watch him play- he’s bad.

The rest of the offense and team are actually pretty good - he bogs down everything.

The argument that he is the best we have is, as we know now, a completely false narrative.

I don’t blame him for how he plays - which is mostly awful - I blame Pruitt for playing him.

I can’t be the only one who sees this - he at times has literally killed us. He is not an Sec caliber qb-

Don’t get me started- the other two can play either here or elsewhere, but both are significant upgrades over him as a quality quarterback.

It’s not his fault but it’s phenomenally frustrating to see him out there.

As far as I am concerned, he can give his all in the classroom.

Not trying to be harsh or that guy, but it makes no sense to have him playing most of the snaps for Tennessee. Not sure if I mentioned this or not,
but he is not good.
