Someone on another thread mentioned that if Fulmer goes, the number one coach they would try and go after would be Bill Cowher. Being an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan this really excites me. I think Cowher would be amazing, and would get a team where it needs to be. He has such a fire about him. Now, I know that this is probably so farfetched that it's crazy to even think about, but until its a definite no....I’m going to BELIEVE!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I am finding it hard to imagine Cowher wearing bright orange. He just doesn't seem like someone who'd wear orange.

There is probably maybe a slim 5% chance he would come to Tennessee. As mentioned before, until they name another coach at Tennessee I will still have faith and belive he is going to be the next HC here.

I think that the first 3 big names they're after turn them down. From there I think they'll go young. We could possibly end up with Clawson if they get turned down 3-5 times. But with his late recruiting success this year I don't think that would be a bad thing. Especially if this story about him wanting to bench Crompton is true. But all this gets put on hold if the Vols win next week.

We won't hire Clawson if the offense is as bad as it has been. Even if he isn't doing what he wants to, I doubt Hamilton would go for it.

Realisticly it comes down to Hamilton on up in what direction they wish to go, IF they ask CPF to step down. If it's decided winning and perpetuated winning is the goal, then money will have to be no object as Alabama chose. Whatever coach is next he's going to have to be a well known, proven winner to attract recruits. My 1st choices would be Gruden or Cowher although I agree neither are likely unless on a personal level one of them has the urge to be the component in bringing a traditioned team back to greatness.

Cowher would be great , but I don't see it happening . He will probably be coaching on Sundays again , going to be lots of jobs open by the end of current season .

One thing for sure, there are at least 100 coaches out there that would take this job in a heart-beat

True. NFL coaches don't have to go out and recruit.

I doubt he'd come coach at UT. I don't see him coaching again - at least at the college level. Especially since he's turned down his alma mater, NC State before.

When and if John Fox stumbles in Carolina, I would think Cowher would be the likely choice there.

It would take at least $5.5 mil to get cowher, since he can get that soon in another nfl gig. He's probably hoping that carolina fires their coach, since he's from that area.
