The reason for going back is that I kept seeing references to "the best coaching staff in America" and I wanted to find where it was actually said. Listening through the press conference, I came across this and I wanted to get some opinions.

Rob Lewis (Volquest) asks about the offense, the quarterback to be more specific:
"You mentioned you wanted to play up tempo on offense with , you know, spread elements. Is part of that, would you prefer to have a running quarterback or are you adaptable to that regards?"

Coach Jones:
"Well Rob, I think the best coaches are the ones that mold their schemes around the players that they have, and uh so you know, this year we didn't have a running quarterback we made a change mid way through the year, he's a drop back passer(referencing his former Cincinnati team) so you know, we're going to play to the strengths of our players and our offense is quarterback oriented....We'll base our offense around the quarterback's skills set."

Looking back, do you feel that Coach Jones and staff have done that? Has the scheme been molded around the players' skills set or not?

Now I'm not saying that his scheme will ultimately fail because he is recruiting better players and hopefully those players will be successful in his scheme but he said it himself, the best coaches mold the schemes around the players and not the other way around.

Has he actually had a lot of players that fit his offensive scheme yet?

Tis the better question to ask in this debate imo.

With Worley he had a drop back over the middle passing scheme.... Our O-line killed this approach. With Dobbs it is true read option or as in last night run only no passing... I think the answer is yes... He calls to the QBS strength

CBJ has really aged in these three short years. I had to lol when he thanked Dooley for laying the foundation!

I honestly feel that Butch and the staff used the same offensive packages and schemes all season and didn't alter or make adjustments, especially during games. The play calling was suspect in several games. Looking back, maybe Dobbs should have played all season but I understand trying to preserve a redshirt. I applaud the defensive staff. No one expected the D to play like they did this year. The entire staff did a pretty good job considering this team faced injuries all season. Early on it was Wolf,Pearson, and Gilliam, then Worley, and finally North and Smith. I think the Johnson arrest really affected the Mizzou game and if Dobbs played against Florida, that may have been another W. The o-line will be the biggest question mark next year and if they can find two tackles, then maybe Tennessee has a shot at 9 wins.

I think if Hurd doesn't go out, we win FL.
