I don't know how much credit to give the coaches -- some, for sure. We've just had an influx of very talented young football players who are getting their first chance to see the field on ST and that's made all the difference, IMO. That's why I'm so excited to see what these young players can do next season when they begin to play more regularly on the offensive and defensive units.
Our special teams under Dooley were a horror show for fans and to our opponents we often looked like the Keystone cops out there. It's coaching for sure, our special teams improved dramatically since CBJ arrived.I don't know how much credit to give the coaches -- some, for sure. UT has had teams with future nfl players sitting as backups and the special teams weren't much to talk about. I can only write it, I can't read it for you. Not sure how 3 different people seemed to miss it when I said the coaches deserve some of the credit. I'm simply pointing out that the ST unit is made up of a lot of players from the great recruiting classes we've had the last couple of years (credit to the coaches again). We have better players out there now, which means they take coaching better than the guys they replaced and they match-up better with the opponents' players and win more 1:1 running and blocking.
Maybe this is some kind of crazy concept and I'm all alone in my thinking.

You're missing the point that we've actually fielded special teams units with far more talent and their results were not close to this season. Giving the coaches only "some" of the credit reads like a slight
