I was yelled at to sit down at game

Old people don't want to go to games that are:

(1) loud
(2) at night
(3) too early in the day
(4) when it's hot
(5) when it's cold

It's a shame so many have no respect for another generation.. Hope no one treats or talks about your elders like some do on this BB.. glad I won't be the one sitting behind so many of you... I don't know why you all don't contact UT and make your complaints known... :realmad::realmad::realmad:

let 'em have at it. It wont be too long before they have some age on them plus arthroscopic surgery or two on a their knees or perhaps a titanium plate and screws in their ankle like I do and find out that it isnt possible to stand an entire game. Then they can try to explain to those younger folks that they need to sit down.

What goes around comes around.

Do not start the wave, ever. You're there to watch the football game, not people standing up and then sitting down.

I have been to games where I stood the entire time and sat at halftime. One example the UF game in 98 I did as did most everyone in the stadium.

I agree and hear other people say this... but have you seen how many people do it once it starts coming around? Peer pressure man...

They used to have a UT shirt that said something to the affect of "If you cant see stand up"... When Im at the games I rarely sit, and always yell at the top of my lungs. Fans like me are the ones that give us home field advantage, fans like the ones sitting behind you are why some people believe places like UCLA, Cal, and USC have better home field advantages because of the noise. Weak sauce...

said perfectly! you gotta show the team you're behind them, make them believe! I'm gonna be at the UF game and I don't plan on sitting!! You want quietness and a chair go to a effin library..This is Neyland Stadium its supposed to be loud otherwise what good is 102,000 + ?

Be careful. One of those people will call you rude.:)

Two more: we also don't want to go when it's raining or when the hemorrhoids are acting up.

neyland is the tale of two cities in its prime it was intimidating. Teams used to hate playing there because the fans struck fear in opposing teams and their fan base, BUT as of recent times its been pathetic the only time it was even close to loud may've been last year during the SC game. I go to OSU and I'll admit it their fans may be annoying and obnoxious but they make some noise during a game, this being said Neyland let's see what you got! Time to get loud this season the team needs our support more now than ever and if someone says something to you just show em where they can stuff their stadium seat!!!

Stuff their stadium seat huh? Talk about sportsmanship....

I hear yall... this old man behind me tapped me on a 3rd down on defense and said WE cAnT SEE...i said well stand up... and he said you have no respect for others do you young punk...I said yeah i got respect for THE VOLS i paid for my ticket and im hear to root my team on and thats what im going to do.... The mumbled things about me the whole first half before they left at halftime...

Idiots like these people are why Neyland's 12th man isnt as strong as he used to be!!!

Remember this quote when you get to that man's age. When you've paid money for tickets longer than that rude kid is in front of you has been alive. When, as much as you want, you cant stand. Might want to tatoo it on your arm so you can read it in some years as you're laying in recovery from knee surgery.

Just remember it because your day is coming. Payback's a real b__ch.

standing is part of cheering your team

I've been to very few sports events where you feel like you can make a difference for your team by cheering, but Neyland experience is one of them

If I am at a game, I stand up and cheer a lot, if someone has a problem with it, then they can stand up, too.

The ONLY thing that gets on my nerves at Neyland is a passive, quiet or lax crowd, especially when UT is on defense. It's our obligation to encourage our team and make the other team regret ever coming into that fine stadium.

PERIOD

You would be correct.....BUT the old geezer was actually texting and playing with his phone every time i looked back at him......THEY HAD NO interest in the game....WASNT even wearing Tennessee Garb!!

They were more interested in the half time show...after that they left!!

So..yea...i dont care who is behind me.... Bought theyre tickets or not for years...Im standing up and cheering for my team while they are on D ESPECIALLY ON 3rd down... and on big offense plays....

Sorry thats what we are there to do!

Kinda forgot that important part of the story. Makes a difference.

Still, you'll be there one day. What goes around comes around.

Ok, we got it. You're old and not able to stand. Maybe your old arse should stay at home then, or sit in the Tennessee Terrace with it's nice confortable seats and cup holders so you can take your teeth out at halftime or when you do decide to actually make some noise.

I'm a medically retired military veteran who, at the age of 24, has to take a handful of pills everyday and I can't do a lot of things. Sitting for long periods is one of them because it causes my legs to go numb or me to get blood clots.

So I choose to stand a lot at games because it hurts to sit.

There's always somebody out there that has their reasons as well old man. Just because they dont feel it necessary to divulge that information doesnt mean they are automatically disrespectful, young punks who are only standing to piss off the old geezer behind them.

I am there to cheer for my team. I love the Vols, and I want them to know that if they can get out there and play their arses off for 4 quarters than I can at least stand, yell, and clap when they do something great like make a big stop, or a 2min drive for the win.

If you have been paying for tickets longer than I've been alive, than save your SSN checks for a season and buy a boxseat, then you dont have to ask anyone to sit down ever again.

agree with jack tate. if you find it difficult to stand during periods of time than you should stop going to games or pay up for seats where people don't need to stand. it's like being pissed someone is asking you to run when you join a pickup basketball game.
