I was yelled at to sit down at game

I say everything goes except language, if you are a paying fan you should have the right to stand and cheer as loud as you want. Guarentee DD and the Vols want everyone to be up and loud sat. Fact is if you dont want to be in a loud and crazy environment, stay the bleep home!

Being a student was so much easier...you stand and scream till you lose your voice.... unless it's hafltime! PERIOD!!!

If we had 107 thousand fans that did that....we wouldnt lose! The Defense shouldnt have to beg us to stand up and cheer for them!

I thought the crowd was pretty good for UCLA though it was a step down from Cal or UF in 2006.

I give the UTM crowd a pass. It was nothing more than a glorified scrimmage. I would almost feel embarrassed if we needed crowd noise to swing momentum against them.

Agree to Disagree I guess. I believe the score was 13-0 at that point vs UTM, not a big enough lead for the crowd to be out of it by no means.

Making noise at a football game is natural. Sitting there like you are at home is NOT! If you want to sit and watch and be quiet, you aren't much of a FAN! Stand Up & Cheer!!

GO VOLS!!

That is a mature thing to do. There is no place for that on this Board. :)

I am a former Farragut resident. Recently relocated to Tellico Village...just what are you guys suggesting about the fine folks living out west?

Do you sit more than 80% at the games? Doesn't count going to the concessions stand.

if you want to sit and watch the game, you can do that at home, or in the front row, or in box seats. the person in front of you has just as much right to stand as you have to sit at a game.

And, the person sitting (for whatever reason) has just as much right to see the game as the person standing. Just the Devil's advocate here. Don't hate the messenger. I've never really had a problem from either position. You get what you give.

It's the new age fan. Just like on this board. You get a little carried away and put your hopes for the next game into words and some know it all tells you to shut up or calls you a moron.
Back in the day that would have gotten you an adjusted eye socket. Sometimes, I wish Al gore hadn't invented this internet thing.

I am with you, I paid for my spot in the stadium, and i am going to stand the entire time. i am sorry for those who get pissy, but I didnt pay $60-$100 to sit. If you do not like it then please feel free to stay home.

That is funny, we were just pointing out all of the d-bags like this at the last game. They think they look as though they are being more supportive because they stand there with their arms crossed looking around during TV timeouts. More power to you I guess, just glad I am in an area of the stadium like the one VolDad longs for, one that is loud the entire game, but understands the appropriate times to stand.

And I pay face value and I get the choice whether to sit or stand. The couple that sits in front of me is usually too drunk to sit up well, much less stand. Last week, she actually worked on friendship bracelets the ENTIRE game. Talk about something that really bothered me, that we can agree on is a wasted ticket...

My mom cracks me up. She decks out in orange from head to toe and then sits and reads a book when the game starts.

The rules are simple. When the people in front of you are standing and you can't see, stand up. If everybody in front of you is sitting down, keep your ass in the seat.

It really is that simple, amazing to me that this concept is so lost on people on both sides of the spectrum.

Student Section = you are going to stand the whole game.

Alumni Section = possibly sitting down.

Either way your gonna be standing alot so If you dont like it dont go to the game or find a section with alot of old people..

 here comes the pain Oregon!

Amen! don't be pissed at the two people standing in front of you, realize there are maybe 5,000 in front of them standing.

Stadium Etiquette is easily one of the most divisive issues I've seen.

i have been ssshhhh'ed at a game before, i don't use profanity but i really get on the visitors. i asked the lady was she afraid i was going to wake someone up, this is our home field stand up. the lady then ask my friends mom not to let us use the tickets again. really sad.:bad:

I typically abide by this rule, but that vests a lot of responsibility/power in the people in the front row.

I cant help but laugh at people who chose internet forums to try to belittle people. Calling me a Dbag because the way I chose to supprt the Vols is not exactly in line with how you chose, rather pathetic. But if that is the way you look at things and that is how you like to express yourself, then by all means be my guest, my seats are JJ row 24 seats1-4, I'll be the one standing.

I am on my feet all day tailgating! all i want to do is be able to sit down and watch my Vols in peace and quiet. Why can't 100,000 people comply with my wishes!?!? I paid good money for my tickets.

Old people have what's coming to them!! They irritate me by poking in the left hand lane. And they don't move when I lay on my horn. So I'm just going to irritate them by standing at football games and I won't move when they yell at me to sit down! Deal with it Gramps!
