I was yelled at to sit down at game

I say stand when you want to and make some noise. We need to show Oregon that their little stadium is no match for Neyland. Go Vols!!!!!!!

If I'm at the game (and have been to all the games for the last 5 years) I am standing and shouting. If I wanted to sit, I would stay at home and watch it on tv. I have been asked several times, "Sit down I cant see and there is nothing exciting going on," my reply is always the same, "If I wanted to sit I would have stayed home, but if you want to pay for my tickets that I bought then I will gladly sit." Usually they look around you or just talk about you. Doesn't bother me a bit cause I'm there to cheer on the Vols and not be a DEADHEAD kinda like the crowd was last week. I remember great crowds when everyone stood the entire game and yelled! Where are all those peeps???

Some of these folks may very well be wounded war veterans? Just because they can afford a ticket at today's prices doesn't mean they are "moneybags". Would you deny them the right to sit in the stadium, too?

Those folks need to be respectful of the fans that want to stand and yell for the Vols at the top of their lungs too. It goes both ways. I agree with the posters who say to go with the flow. To go to a college football game and expect to be able to sit the whole time is absurd. If the fans in front of me stand so do I it's that simple. Otherwise I try to be respectful of those behind me. If you can't see stand up and if you can't stand because of physical ailments and your behind me then we can swap seats. But if you're a lazy pain in the ass that just likes to complain stay home.

This might be my favorite argument of all time.

And FWIW - at least the people doing the wave did it when we were on defense this time. Improvement.

Everyone can stand the **** up or shut the **** up! we need all the home field advantage we can get!!!

I can agree with that.

I know why you were asked to sit down. You were drunk and obnoxious. I deal with this almost every game. There's a difference in being a loud fan and a drunk loud obnoxious fan.

Personally, I'm not sure why someone would fight the traffic, the crowds, and swallow the expense just to sit and *****. Stay home, jeez, and let those who can actually contribute to us having a home field advantage in the stadium.

And by the way, I went to Farragut and I yell my ass off. And stand.

either sit down or don't... why are you on here crying about it? Did they hurt your feelings that bad?

no im someone who wants my team to win and have home field advantage and i bet the players want the fans to also

Stupid on so many levels.

1) Standing does not mean that you want your team to win more.

2) Standing creates no home field advantage.

3) Players better be concerned with what is happening on the field and not concern themselves about whether you are standing or not.

WOW! This is pathetic.. I'm 21 and Ive always gone to the games with my dad, even some bowl games and I've always thought that we as fans are there to support our team and disrupt the enemy's rhythm.. I can't stand to see people watch the game sitting down like they are at a freaking movie! I mean STAND UP and CHEER! How do you think players would think if they saw people sitting down? "They would be like why bother, they don't seem to care why should I."

If any of you played QB you know how nervous it get be even more so with NOISE. Everyone always talks about playing in front of 100,000 fans, well what good is that if we don't stand up and go nuts!! I agree 100% if you want to sit and be quiet stay at home.. I mean even if you go to a bar or BWW people are loud they don't sit there at eat quietly. If someone said " Can you keep it down I'm trying to eat" they would be laughed out the front door! People know that and they stay away from hooters and places like that on GAME DAY. GBO!!

You justly flame alot of people but that post was not stupid. He's not simply standing. He's standing and screaming his fool head off. The players actually ask for this behavior while the game is going on. Chillax Pops!

After reading some of these posts I have figured out the problem. Some of our fans are too stupid to understand the difference between standing and yelling. They think that the two are 1 in the same.

The rules are simple. When the people in front of you are standing and you can't see, stand up. If everybody in front of you is sitting down, keep your ass in the seat.

His post says stand up or stop complaining. It makes no mention of screaming his fool head off.

they also confuse inebriation with unbridled team support

Do you get an owner's manual with front-row seats? We certainly are putting alot of faith in those people's understanding of protocol.

Your pathetic. To think you get the same affect from sitting and yelling as you do standing and yelling is ridiculous. Obviously some of you have never played the game, and don't know how the crowd getting wild can motivate the players.

Your assumption is pathetic.

I really try to refrain from correcting spelling and grammar but this is about the fourth time tonight I have seen someone confuse "affect" with "effect."

Also, you needed to say "you're pathetic."
