I was yelled at to sit down at game

who designed the seats in Neyland anyway ... I thought the reasons for the layout was if someone stands in front of you they were low enough for the person behind to still see the field....

It's a freaking football game, not a damn night at the opera. I would LOVE to be told to leave because I wouldn't sit down. Mike Hamilton and every person I could get a hold of at UT would get a wonderful email and phone call from me. If people think that the coaches and players want you to sit on your asses during a game, then maybe they should stay at home and give me their tickets.

Eric, all I can say is :clapping: and :good!:

You and I have exactly the same outlook on this topic.

I endorse the stand and raise hell while on defense and sit and jump up on the big plays on offense I've been to several other SEC stadiums and with the exceptions of Vandy & Kentucky the fans never sit especially LSU & Florida Although by fourth quarter LSU fans can't stand very good

The rules are simple. When the people in front of you are standing and you can't see, stand up. If everybody in front of you is sitting down, keep your ass in the seat.

Amen! don't be pissed at the two people standing in front of you, realize there are maybe 5,000 in front of them standing.

Stadium Etiquette is easily one of the most divisive issues I've seen.

I hear it on these forums all the time that there are people that ask people in front of them to sit down.

I have not been to a game in about 3 years and the first game I go to I sit in front of people that ask me to sit down.

I reply to them "If I sit down I won't be able to see because the people in front of me are standing" They are like "Uh well tell them to SIT DOWN!" I reply "You don't have to sit down at a football game"

Finally after we sit down because of some stoppage of play the people that complained clapped because we sat down. I turn around and say "That is the first time I have seen you guys cheer this game"

Anyway.. my point is.. Stay at home if you want complain about everything. They didn't stand one time.. even when the stadium started doing the save the lazy idiots never stood up. They were not any older than 50 either. It is pathetic.. they were obviously either from Farragut or tellico village.

You should have just sat down and ripped a big ole fart, I bet you they would have gotten off their lazy azzes!!!! Then you tell them that for some reason it happens a lot every time you sit down!!!! :dance2::birgits_giggle::good!::rock:

If I pay the money for a ticket and someone told me to sit I'd tell them to kiss my ass. Screw you its a free county last I checked.

If there is a man on here from section h row 61 sorry for your 3rd qtr experience. If your wife had not chosen to scream at someone else's young children for standing; or had maybe had asked them in a polite manner you would not have had to be put in the awkward situation you ended up in. I think the comment regarding "her leash" was justified and served up in a lasting impression manner.

Person that tells you to sit down next time tell them to kiss your big orange...:shaking2:

Also some morons in section H if the student section were continuously trying to get the wave started when the score was only 3-0 and 10-0.

Hahaha. Some guy in z12, I think, tried for about 5 minutes to get the wave started towards us...we didn't follow so he turned around and tried the other way and finally got it going

I am a former Farragut resident. Recently relocated to Tellico Village...just what are you guys suggesting about the fine folks living out west?

That people who have a problem with anyone who wants to stand up and be rowdy the whole game can cram it and join them.. or watch the game at home with their stuck up friends

There should be a way in this day and age to locate the people that try to start the wave via gps and vaporize them from outer space.

Maybe 3 people in our section tried to help him and I wasn't one of them

Maybe the gov't already has a system like that in place

Especially those dumb enough to do it when we have the ball.

The thing I LOVE the most is people reading their newspapers during the game and yes I have seen that!UGH! oh and reading books!

I't amazes me how people think they can run their mouths any way they like but others should just take it. Was not there but could not have taken someone raising their voice at my kids (if I had them) over them cheering, you open your mouth expect to be put in your place. (By any means necessary)

For the ones who get a little pissy about people standing, I will most definatetly be at the game saturday and I will most definately be standing. Just letting you know so you can make different plans and or have 4 days to get over it.

I don't mind people standing at all - I would stand more myself if people in front of me would. Also, the wave was awesome.

My only complaint from the game was that I was sitting in front of a 24-28 yr old female who was in love with herself. She was a previous band member, and felt it was her duty to inform everyone about her many talents and why the band is so good. STFU.

If you are going to be snobby, at least use proper English. It's, "you're."

+1

I love it when people can't use the proper version of your or you're. Obviously they never met the Harbrace handbook, which means they also never went to UT.

Would have felt bad yelling at a woman in any other situation. Well unless my dinner wasn't cooked right, jk.

You must be young. Sometimes, the infirmities of old age (even middle age) make it uncomfortable to stand, especially for long periods of time. Old or injured knees, ankles, hips, etc. are not visible ailments, so the reason for people to sit when even they might prefer to stand are not always apparent. Besides, if they didn't want people to sit in the stadium, they wouldn't have put in seats.

Thats no excuse, if you can do all the walking and standing it takes to get to your seats, you can stand, at least in spurts. i try to be curtious to the people behind me,but for god sakes your at a football game not the movies.
