After the game Saturday, I got the Hurd gif thread stirred up with a snarky comment that was, in retrospect, just me picking a fight. I was pissed after another close loss & I guess was pissed not everyone else was as pissed. I was called out for it and frankly deserved it.

Hurd has shown a ton of heart & talent, but what that wave (& gif) showed was an essential element the program has been missing for a long time: Confidence.

I think that is what everyone was excited about & I am too. Butch is developing a group of men that believe. The wins are coming, I believe that too.

My apologies for pissing in everyone's Cheerios. Go Vols & beat some gator azz!

Nice thread, CA. Handling it like a true VFL should. Butch would be proud! I am and no hard feelings from me !!! brother I know you'll be cheering for the same team as me on Saturday and that makes us family! Go Vols!

I definitely will be. I was at the '98 & '04 UF wins. Two of the best games I've ever seen. But more than that, they were some of my favorite times with my dad. He's sick & I just want desperately for him to see UT back. So I have a lot of ancillary emotions wrapped up in this team. No excuse, just the reality.

Sorry yo hear about your dad. I think he's going to see TN back! We're already very close. I think most of us probably share the UT football bonds with our dads so I completely feel ya.

I was at 98 and 04 as well (this will be the first FL home game I've missed since 98) and those 2 games must be two of the highest moments I've had as a Vols fan. I hope (and think we will) recapture that magical feeling again Saturday

I brought a UGA buddy of mine to the '98 game. He still talks about it being one of the most unreal experiences of his life.

But, I think that '04 UF game was the loudest I've ever heard Neyland.

Love to see someone on the other side of the fence come around.. I am not saying moral victories are worth celebrating..but anyone who can not see the progress the team is making is blind and dumb. We just need to get over the hump this sat and the rest of the season will take care of itself.

Unfortunately for me, this means my wife was right.

You see, I was sick to ****ing death of your Taylor Swift *****ing and screeching and was going to post one of my typical screed posts...but then I remembered something my wife said...basically that I am a grouchy ass-hole and need to let up on people a little. Because usually there's a reason for unreasonable behavior.

So I struggled and sweated and managed to post a reasonable response to you in one of the other threads that you were endlessly whining in. Now here you are manning up and admitting you were being an ass.

Which means my wife was right. Again. Dammit.
