Didn't read all of it, but I tend to agree with the overall sentiment. I actually think Hart has done an excellent job, both with football and the entire AD. The things he is doing with continuity, stability, and financially... hes just simply doing a very solid job.

$50,000 dollars. $50,000 compared to Butch's $600,000+. Zo had one of the lowest salaries in the SEC. If we wanted to show some love we would have at least gave him a raise to bump him up near the salaries of the top 4-5 coaches in the SEC. Hart made a nice gesture, but he was no fool. Zo was a sitting duck. Had a stayed, he'd still been ran off after this season. He left us with nothing. His Dooley-like recruiting has scre@ed us. His tacit race agenda cost us massively. Anyone with a basketball IQ knows Zo is a below average floor coach who doesn't know how to maximize talent. His offensive system was not only an enigma to most people, it also was the least PG friendly system I've ever seen.

The fans ran coach ZO of, we got what we deserve and we will never be a powerhouse in basketball like Kentucky just like they will never be a football power we are a FOOTBALL school that every 10 years makes a little run to the sweet 16, that's just the way it is.:thud:

I just completely disagree. It's like some of our fansju blindly love the coach and will accept no critism of him. Look at the sc game.... I believe we win that game in spite of Butch. We had the game completely in hand early in the second half. Then Butch decided to go conservative. If we get a 1 point lead we just stop trying to score and attempt to run out the clock. That never works. And once you give up your momentum it's sometimes hard to regain it. And that's what happened against SC. Late in the first half we had a fourth and short just outside of fg range. Butch rolled the dice and it worked. Dobbs ran for a td. Then in the second half faced with almost the exact same scenario Butch twice decided to attempt the fg's. We missed both times allowing sc to get back in the game. Meanwhile Spurrier rolled the dice over and over again and they built a lead. The other terrible decision in that game was allowing Coleman to cover Cooper one on one most if the night. It took a miracle for us to get back in that game when we clearly had the best players in the field. Butch totally blew the Florida and Mizzou games by being conservative.
Look I hope it works out because Lord knows we can't go through another coaching change and Butch has recruited as well as anyone we've ever had here but he's just so Damn conservative in these games. I truly am afraid it's going to be his undoing. You just can't be successful at anything in life if you are scared to death to take chances

Its takes a H@LL of a coach to go 6 and 6 with a freshmen team in this league, even next year we still will be one of the youngest teams in the country, really it will be 16 before we really now what we got as a coach, now he can recruit, I pretty sure he knows the coaching part, but lest put a real team on the field before we knock coach JONES coaching ability, I have been a fan for 43 years and this was the worst mess TENNESSSEE was ever in when coach Jones took the job, we were below Vandy in talent level and even Kentucky when he came, we are not even half way back yet, we are about 40 percent there, so we got a long way to go still, now saying that we need to win 8 in 15 to show the fans and the elite talent that TENNESSEE is on it way becoming a powerhouse again.:rock:.

It can be done, but Zo wasn't the guy to do it. Pearl energized our program. We were vastly overrated in his first year here. I think we landed a 2 seed his first year here, and then lost the first game to Wichita State. However, Pearl proved that TN needs a coach who is energetic. He also proved TN has the ability to win year in and year out. We need a coach that plays uptempo offense, and likes to press. Most TN fans just want to be entertained, and Tyndall's style of ball does just that. It's also effective. That's why, without a PG/true C, we still have been in every game this year. Tyndall is Pearl-like.

This is why I say Hart shouldn't bend over to the NCAA. Tyndall will not be replaced by anyone good. We are better off sticking beside Tyndall, and from Hart's standpoint, it's better for him to back Tyndall than to fire him. Hamilton missed that memo, and look where it got him.

I will respectfully disagree with your statement about Zo. I was a zo supporter, and I support Tyndall too. Zo ran the program clean, and won us games. we should have been in NCAA in 2012 also, but anyways for some reason we were not. Great Reggie Miller, and lot of the experts gave us the vols fans lot of $hit for the way we behaved with him. We are fans, but I doubt we know better than the basketball experts. Vol fans didn't like CCM because he was not expressive enough on the court, and he lost some crucial winnable games. zo didn't play the racist card. It was true, boosters not supporting him in recruiting trail. We like it or not! Race was an issue when it came to Zo. We have Tyndall now who goes nuts on court, and we all love it. I guess we needed that kind of energy.

Mr. hart has been great in recruiting coaches, and he is willing to support his decision. CBJ was his recruit, and he has backed him all the way through. CCM was Hamilton's choice, now Tyndall is Hart's choice and he will back him too.

Don't forget baseball. Dave Serrano is a good hire too. So in all we are in good hands with all the coaches. GBO! Go VOLS!!

I don't think you watched the game but Justin Coleman's interception deep in South Carolina's end zone set up a UT touchdown. The game went into overtime and we won! SC schemed to get the match ups they wanted against our D! Teams do this to get favorable match ups!
Worley blew the florida game with his interceptions and fumble! I know you don't disagree b/c you just can't stand Butch and staff for some reason. Conservative in Missouri game, maybe, idk!

Im completely ok with this. My problem is, Miller, etc. saw Zo in the tournament. Had he coached like he did in the tournament every game he'd still be here. His lethargic coaching killed us on the road. Players feed off coaches. When he started standing up all game and showing some emotion, our team feed off that energy, and it propelled us into the sweet 16. Zo left because fans craved for that energy from him, and he never demonstrated it until the very end. By that point, fans had turned on him and it was to late to turn back.

So easy for a fan to criticize. Some decisions work out and some don't; a lot depends upon the execution by the players. You know so much more about game management than the head coach and offensive coordinator maybe you should give them your phone number.

The jury is very much still out in his actual coaching ability. In fact I believe we've seen enough to say he's just not that good of a game day manager. Hes also not that good at game planning. With this seasons offensive line giving up video game type sacks and tackles for loss stats.......add the injuries to WR's.....all the inexperience and youth....it is really hard to go guns blazing in fear of turning the ball over....and if you have faith in your kicker you take points when you can.

The defense was the heart of this team...putting it on them to win games this year is just how it had to be. If you truly think Butch Jones and his staff don't want to light the score board up you are crazy....but Team 118's offense is in no way shape of form a prolific offensive juggernaut to attempt that....our offense was pretty O-ffensive all season.

OK - so let's not fault Hamilton for not risking his reputation fighting for his job. Pearl is to blame here. My guess is if he had copped to the offense to Hamilton, Hamilton would have advised him to come clean and take the slap on the wrist. He'd probably still be in Knoxville. But pearl didn't do that. He lied to his boss and made him look like a fool.
