I have been living in south east IN for the past 10 yrs i wear an orange T-shirt vols or not every day im not at work "as of right now im wearing my UT basketball shorts its 130 am" for those that dont know i live 5 minutes from the Kentucky border and if u know anything about uk fans they are pure white trash bandwagon jumping pieces of crap every year i heard just wait for basketball season this year has been awful "we beat u guys even in womens basketball" its real bad so to say im excited about what coach Martin has done would be an understatement and i will say this one time and one time only if we lose to kentucky again i will personally burn down the entire UK campus the loss was so bad i got txt messages of people tebowing on tge field they even know that tim tebow played at floriduh they think that bad basketball players become football players i never thought i would hate a uk fan or be threatened by them but these past couple of years have been hard but you know what...

What makes so many people think the Haslams are just going to write multi-million dollar checks for all these buyouts? Because they're rich? That doesn't mean they have to bail UT out every time a coaching change is made. PLUS, they just ponied up 1 BILLION Dollars for the Browns. I'm pretty sure the Browns have eclipsed the Vols on their priority list.

I live in N. Ala. and know it takes a lot of heart to be a Vol just putting up with all the bammers and their crap. One thing I am convinced of...we have more Vols fans who actually went to UT than bama fans who went to UA, or for that matter ever finished high school.

Winners are winners. The only question is recruiting. If you think Gruden can't recruit you're insane. He has charisma in spades, and a national spotlight to boot.

The man has never coached College football. This is about as moronic as it gets. Fans like you make us a laughing stock. We better find some players that want to play for Tennessee no matter who coaches, we expected a lot this season but tell me the truth why? We have two receivers and a sometimes QB that decides to quit in some games and its all blamed on the coach. Oh and unless you have 5-7 million dollars to play off the present and then money to pay a new coach plus keep paying Phil and Pearl just sit down and hang on.

What are you talking about? He had 3 losing seasons out of 11 and an overall winning record, playoffs included. USC must've made a huge mistake hiring Pete Carroll with his mediocre NFL record and no college HC experience...oh wait.

People use Dungy as a knock on Gruden but the Oakland team he built made the SB with Bill Callahan as HC. Bill Callahan.

You guys just need to hang in there. Things will get better. Both of our programs (UF and UT) have seen some hard times lately, but, as you can see from us, it doesn't take much to turn things around. Really, all of us "Eastern Powers" (UGA, UT, and UF) have been down, but we'll get things going again. The West won't dominate like this forever. Everything is cyclical, and LSU and Bama won't keep up this pace forever.

The ones who have to be feeling sick is South Carolina fans. They've had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fill the void in the East and have failed miserably. Only one trip to Atlanta in which they got completely destroyed (might have been the worst loss in SEC Championship game history). Their little window is just about closed and it would be great to see UT slam it shut tomorrow.

The Vols will be back and this is still an 8 or 9 win team despite what most of your fans think right now. It starts tomorrow with a 31-14 win over the chickens.

you have a lot of balls saying UF has had some hard times lately with 2 national titles in the previous 5 seasons in a thread where tennessee hasnt had 8 wins since i enrolled in 08. you guys have 2 seasons where you were slightly above 500 boohoo. youre number 2 right now and have a state ridden with talent to the point of your program being sustainable forever. gtfo with your hard times.

I totally agree.

It's extra hard when we lose to teams that we used to always consider easy Wins but most all the SEC teams have gotten better coaches and recruiters and today is loads different then 10 years ago because the SEC is vastly improved from top to bottom and even Vandy and kenSucky can get alot more good players because the kids know they'll have a better shot at the NFL if they prove they can play well in the SEC against the best competition in the country.

There are alot of nuts here on VN but I'm just another big nut in this mixed nut can.

He is a celebrity, teenagers like hooters! He has sit downs with the best QBs in the bizz, he has UT ties, a Super Bowl ring, and a smart football mindset, he coaches players up. Lets not forget he commentates for MNFB! What 18 yr old doesn't want to be mentored by him? He also knows talent.

I'm not 100% sure he's the best choice, but it's definitely an upgrade, money isn't an issue at all for UT. But ... Ole Dools was on Nickies LSU NC staff.
