My girlfriend went to auburn and is from there so we were visiting her parents and when i decided to leave, I stopped to get gas. I walked in after I had filled up and there was a guy (with like 2 teeth) behind the counter wearing a bama shirt and I already knew this was going to be an adventure seeing as I was wearing a power T shirt and a UT hat. I payed for my gas and he asked is there anything else, I looked over the counter and asked for a can of Grizzly wintergreen longcut. He replied with, oh I didn't know Tennessee fans could read. This really pissed me off so I shot back with yes, we are actually highly intellectual people. Then I added, I heard bama fans cant count, he replied with "oh why is that?" I said well how many national championships do you have? He said 16. I said my point exactly and walked out the door. Bama fans are the worst.
Dont believe all the stories you hear bro. Like i said in another post i have lived outside of Bham for 16 yrs, have a Power T on my windshield, a Vols tag on the front and a personalized tag that says "friend" 10ECVLS" and have had UT stuff and personalized tags and flags and never have been yelled at out of a car, no damage has ever been done. Have been flipped off a few times back when we were winning but besides that not a thing. Both UAT and AU have annoying Fan Bases, with UAT the worst, UF behind them then AU. Definitely despise them but as far as damage to mythe car or people picking fights i have never had it done nor have i ever seen it. I have heard Ala people say the same thing about living in TN or visiting but my wife and i come once a month to visit Family in Maryville and Lenoir City and she has Ala sh*t all over her car and she has never had any problems at all. I think people tend to exaggerate at times. Im sure it happens in both states but not to the extent people make it out to be. Go Vols!
UGA fans are worse than AU fans... I lived in middle GA for eight years and that fan base was awful.
I am in Huntsville now and the bama fans are not too bad. Huntsville is not like the rest of the state, people are actually nice and there are alot of UT fans here!
Exactly..Im about 40 mins from Tuscalooser and its bad over there. I live in Helena and Shelby Co has alot of Vol fans. My neighborhood hood alone i have seen 7 or 8 cars and houses with Flags and Power T's. Its what attracted me to this area and neighborhood, lol. But most of the Bams and Barns around here are tolerable. There are some annoying as hell, but honestly the worst ones are the ones you hear on sportstalk here, especially on Finebaum. But he also aggs both fanbases on and pisses both of them off, which leads to the fighting and brings outin the redneckerry and stupidity of both fanbases. You cant tell any of them a thing and if any kind of wrongdoing is brought up by the other then they get defensive and its on. I do find it quite funny and i have heard GA fans are aweful and I know firsthand Gators are almost as bad as the Bams and Barns.
I've lived in Birmingham for 30 years, it's not that bad. Most people from day to day could not care less about college football and would never say a word. But, I live in Vestavia Hills.
Drive out to redneck land (Pelham, Fultondale, etc) and it's a different story.
I want this job, pissing off Bammers is my specialty![]()
Oh that only scratches the surface. Try living here for a while...
I grew up there and am down there more than once a month. I don't have a problem. I wear my orange shirts, my camo orange hat with power T, and drive my vehicles with power T's on the back. Yeah, they give me a hard time, but I hand it right back and everyone laughs. It usually ends up with them telling me to beat everyone we play except them.
If you walk around with your "junk" in your hand waving it at everyone and daring them to say something, then you are going to get abused. Be a classy Tennessee Fan (like most of us CLAIM to be), and you will be respected and liked. Just don't play the Auburn card, you get what you get then. With most Bama fans, there is a grudging respect for us just like there is us for them. You don't have to like them, but you do have to have some respect for what their traditions are, just like ours. Before you go saying that they suck and that you hate them, remember that there are VERY few schools even in the SEC that have the kind of tradition that we do.
Then again, if you want to act like an adolescent, don't drink the water like those trees in Auburn did....

Honestly, that's what I call a cool story bro. Such a riveting tale, I honestly copy and pasted it to word, saved on my hard drive, backed it up on a jump drive, drove to the bank, put the jump drive in the safe deposit box, and will leave it there until my kids turn about 12 (when they can actually state their age, and ask what it is I'm showing them), when I will pick it up, put it in an old USB drive reader and relay this cool story to them and tell them, "kids, this is what a cool story should look and sound like...not like the stories your generation tells."
I think ya gotta have a bank account to get a safety deposit box, just saying.
