1. 2004 v.s. Florida... My first UT/UF game and it was my freshmen year at UT, just an amazing game and atmosphere.

2. 2007 @ Kentucky... Overtime games are always thrilling and that one was just absolutely crazy. Still can't believe we blocked that field goal in the 2nd overtime.

3. 2009 @ Bama... Never been so heartbroken leaving a stadium

1. Florida at Tennessee 1992. It was my freshman year. It was pouring down rain. We were winning by enough that the Florida band left. When FL finally scored, we (I was in the Pride) played their fight song for them. Priceless!

2. Tennessee at Alabama, 1995. Touchdown pass from Peyton to Joey Kent on the first play of the game. We won for the first time in 10 years! I was there.

Still trying to come up with my 3rd...

Something I enjoyed doing in the Pride of the Sunshine was playing the opposing teams fight song during pre-game. We stopped that in 2000 or 2001 and I have no idea why. Did you guys ever do that?

I think UT still plays the other team's fight song at some point during the game....or if they don't I was pretty sure they used to, maybe it stopped in the last few years?

It shows respect for the other team, and I enjoyed playing the other fight songs. Who knows why...

I think it's enjoyable. Kinda shows that it's not all hatred, but really it's just two sides competiting. yeah respects the other side too

FriendlyGator, I have to ask. Were you a Broncos fan at all pre-Tebow? Or is that a post-Tebow thing.

Sorry I dont mean to majorly derail the thread or anything

No worries. I admit I was never an NFL fan prior to the Broncos getting Tebow. I followed the Vikings last season because of Percy getting drafted... and by follow I mean if there was nothing on TV and no where to go, I'd sort of watch the game. I'm a big Tebow fan.

1. Miracle Catch: When Jabar Gafney MADE that miracle catch 2000 at Neyland Stadium with seconds on the clock giving us the victory. Watching the UT fans storm out of the stadium in tears was second only to the tearful phone calls into the radio stations wondering why. This was my second UF/UT game and my first in Neyland stadium and this is when I really started liking the Orange and White (next to the Orange and Blue)

understandable. there's a bunch of this people in this state that became Colts fans b/c they drafted Manning. It's an "to each their own" kind of thing.

Just make sure you like a team well enough that you can still follow them post your favorite player lol

I haven't been to a whole lot of football games, so my top three will include basketball.

1. First two rounds of March Madness 2010, in which UT escaped SDSU and thumped Ohio to make their third SWEET SIXTEEN in four years!

2. X's only road win as an SEC coach, better known for Dennis Rogan making a game-saving tackle and ManBeast Hardesty going 20 yards untouched for the game-winning score in overtime!

3. Marvin Mitchell returns an interception for a touchdown on the second play of the game. Williams-Bryce goes silent. Carolina came back, but UT held on for a 31-24 victory.

2) Peta hires Fulmer: I was at the game and watched all the Vol faithful vacate the stadium in the 4th quarter. I never saw so many people give me their IQ number as they passed me (of course, I was waving my keys in the air telling them to drive safely). Don't get me wrong, the Vol fans in my section were tremendous, but there were some drunk ones who got in my face with some expletives before I broke the keys out.

PETA does not like Fulmer. He eats lots of red meat.
FEMA could have used him in 2005.

1. 1998 vs. UGA in Athens - It was #4 UT vs #7 UGA. Gameday was in Athens, the atmosphere was electric since we were coming in undefeated. I still remember how rude some UGA fans were to my brother and I (we were 10 and 8 years old, and this fueled my lifelong hatred for anything UGA). Anyways, the game was undeniably dominated by our defense. We won 22-3, amazing!

2. 2006 vs. UGA in Athens - Im from Georgia so I have tons of friends that go there, so I made the trip to Athens for the weekend to go to the game. We were down 24-7 because of 2, thats 2, kick returns in the first half. Got a TD right before the half to go down 10 and I had a feeling we were about to turn it around in the 2nd half. The trash talking from UGA fans was at an all time high, that is before on their first possession in the second where they threw a pick, 3 plays later we scored and were on our way to a 51-33 come from behind victory that put us on the cover of SI the next week. The thing I remember from this game was the punt block for a TD to go up 38-27, I was in the UGA student section and was not going to show any emotion the whole game to avoid drawing unnecessary attention. When that punt block happened I had so much pent up emotion I had to sit down on the bleacher and put my hands over my eyes to keep from going ape s*** and pissing some drunkards off. Im pretty sure I started crying, but the best part was walking back to my friends dorm with Rocky Top ringing through the trees of Athens, priceless.

3. 1997 Citrus Bowl vs. Northwestern - A masterpiece for Peyton Manning, we won 48-28, was there and participated in the 'One more year' chant. A small piece of me feels responsible for making Peyton stay for his senior year, cool game to be at when you're 8, one of those that you dont appreciate until years later.

Skip over to the dark side of basketball and throw in Tennessee vs Durant a few years back when Loften hit that three from "5" point range right over the player of the year Durant.

My greatest experience has to be the '04 Florida game. Nearly my entire section fell down after Wilhoit made that kick because we were all jumping up and down on the bleachers. One person fell and it caused a domino effect...greatest sports feeling EVER for me.

I was also at the "Lofton over Durant game" in '07. Great game...means alot more now, seeing how successful Durant has become.

Best Games

1. TN Vs. Florida 1998 - I will never forget the absolute madness that was that whole game. It was such a great atmosphere, the games was an absolute slugfest and kept you on the edge of your seat the entire game. The moment I most remember from the game besides the final missed kick, was the long bomb pick by Deon Grant...everyone in the stadium saw that ball go down the field and the UF reciever running seemingly open and everyone thought "here it is" but out of nowhere he comes across and that was when I really thought we were going to win it.

1998 TN V Arkansas - My dad was already packing up the seats and all of our stuff, cussing to himself and really looking crushed. I told him, "dad we have 2 timeouts we still have a chance to get the ball with 30 seconds if we stop them 3 and out." Obviously I didn't think what happened would happen, but when it did it was just one of those "Holy SH*T is this really happening" moments. Every play that Henry ripped those runs down the field the exciment just built and built to an explosion!

2004 TN V Florida - This was my Sophmore year of College at UT and I was in a row with all of my best buddies from my fraternity. Something about that game just oozed a dramatic finish. Needless to say we were all partaking in the spirits which made the finish (long kick) that much more amazing. We went absolutley nuts and the walk back to the frat house after the game was one of the most fun 30 minutes of my life!

The Bad -

2000 TN V Florida - THE NON CATCH...So BS. I will never forget the liqour bottles raining down from the Student section next to me and my buddy (who my dad and I took to his first UT game ever that day) was like what the hell is going on and felt like he had to army crawl out of the game...people were not happy.

2001 TN V Georgia - The highest of highs to the lowest of lows...I broke my dad's chair on that long run by Stephens I was so excited...to be so let down right after hurt.

2001 TN V LSU (SEC) - I can't talk about it.

Great choices. I put the 98 Arkansas game ahead of the 98 Florida game because it was late in the season with both teams alive for NC at 8-0; and the finish was incredible as Henry refused to be tackled and OL was opening monster holes. Billy Ratliffe is an unsung hero for the NC season by causing the "miracle" Stoner fumble, then recovering it.
