I present the challenge for you to post three of those most prominent or notorious moments in games that you have attended in person!

We are calling this "I Was At That Game."

The only caveats are you cannot make more than one of them a Tebow, or Manning Moment.
Be creative, now, and don't make them obvious, like the three national championship games. You can talk about a special play or moment in that game, but just being there for that isn't going to score your points.

Let me give you an example of what I might post and see if you get the idea:

"I Was At That Game" -- FriendlyGator

1. Miracle Catch: When Jabar Gafney MADE that miracle catch 2000 at Neyland Stadium with seconds on the clock giving us the victory. Watching the UT fans storm out of the stadium in tears was second only to the tearful phone calls into the radio stations wondering why. This was my second UF/UT game and my first in Neyland stadium and this is when I really started liking the Orange and White (next to the Orange and Blue). Leads me to...

2) FEMA hires Fulmer: I was at the game and watched all the Vol faithful vacate the stadium in the 4th quarter. I never saw so many people give me their IQ number as they passed me (of course, I was waving my keys in the air telling them to drive safely). Don't get me wrong, the Vol fans in my section were tremendous, but there were some drunk ones who got in my face with some expletives before I broke the keys out.

3) Tale of two teams: The crazy USC game in 2001 where we were outplayed by a Lou Holtttthhhh coached team. Lito Sheppard returns a punt for a touchdown giving us momentum going into the half. The icing on the cake was seeing an OL catch a tipped pass and run it in for a touchdown (the name escapes me) but that HAD to have been the craziest game of football I have ever seen.

#1- vs arkansas. my daughter an myself sitting row 1 behind ark bench. she giving them the business whole game. believe 6th ot an jason witten scores game winning td! priceless!

#2- vs s. carolina. i got on my spurrier up yours t-shirt. our friend lets us on field through visitors tunnell before pregame. spurrier walks by an says nice shirt! tennessee kills usc that day!(4th quarter anyway)

#3- had vesectomy day before, my dad paid crazy amount to see undefeated #1 miami in k-town. 1st play cedric houston goes like 83 yrds to the 3. rest of game really wasnt worth it but i remember how excited i was for 45 seconds. I definitely felt the pain from that loss!

I WAS at that game (actually sitting in the same end zone as the catch with a Gator friend of mine)... and he DID NOT make the catch. The only miracle that occurred is that the ref made the wrong call.

1. Florida 2001....... The draining of "The Swamp" by Travis Stephens and the "stand-up" front 4 defense we played in it.

2. Florida 98....... still have a piece of the goalpost...... never have I heard Neyland that loud!

3. LSU 2005..... talk about being down on a Moday for a half for the unthinkable to happen.

Best Games

1. TN Vs. Florida 1998 - I will never forget the absolute madness that was that whole game. It was such a great atmosphere, the games was an absolute slugfest and kept you on the edge of your seat the entire game. The moment I most remember from the game besides the final missed kick, was the long bomb pick by Deon Grant...everyone in the stadium saw that ball go down the field and the UF reciever running seemingly open and everyone thought "here it is" but out of nowhere he comes across and that was when I really thought we were going to win it.

1998 TN V Arkansas - My dad was already packing up the seats and all of our stuff, cussing to himself and really looking crushed. I told him, "dad we have 2 timeouts we still have a chance to get the ball with 30 seconds if we stop them 3 and out." Obviously I didn't think what happened would happen, but when it did it was just one of those "Holy SH*T is this really happening" moments. Every play that Henry ripped those runs down the field the exciment just built and built to an explosion!

2004 TN V Florida - This was my Sophmore year of College at UT and I was in a row with all of my best buddies from my fraternity. Something about that game just oozed a dramatic finish. Needless to say we were all partaking in the spirits which made the finish (long kick) that much more amazing. We went absolutley nuts and the walk back to the frat house after the game was one of the most fun 30 minutes of my life!

The Bad -

2000 TN V Florida - THE NON CATCH...So BS. I will never forget the liqour bottles raining down from the Student section next to me and my buddy (who my dad and I took to his first UT game ever that day) was like what the hell is going on and felt like he had to army crawl out of the game...people were not happy.

2001 TN V Georgia - The highest of highs to the lowest of lows...I broke my dad's chair on that long run by Stephens I was so excited...to be so let down right after hurt.

2001 TN V LSU (SEC) - I can't talk about it.

2. Alabama 2003..... 5 overtime thriller

3. Florida 2004..... missed extra point followed by a miracle field goal

I know some gator fans, and none actually believe that was a catch in the physical, reality sense, despite what it was ruled.

I remember that game well. I was a Junior in high school and went to my friends house to watch the game. That's where I dubbed Travis McGriff "Butterfingers" McGriff with all his dropped balls. You're right as it was and still is one of the best games I have seen due to the edge of your seat tension.

3.) The Clint Stoerner bumbled snap fumble

#1 1991 Notre Dame game 35-34. I was standing on the endzone endline when they missed the fieldgoal. Some people ran by me onto the field and I thought what the hell and I did too. I dug up some of the dirt and grass from the field and I still have it.

#2 1984 Alabama game 28-27. Tony Robinson dives in for the 2 point conversion to win the game. I didn't hear the John Ward call but one of my friends that was listening on the radio said he had a heart attack on the call.

#3a 1974 UCLA game 17-17. I still get chills thinking about the crowd reaction to Condredge Holloway coming back out to the field.

#3b 1979 Notre Dame game 40-18. I went to the game with a BIG Irish fan. I think the only time he got to cheer was when Notre Dame came onto the field!

UT/UF, 1998 - I was a freshmen in the Pride and this was the first game I attended as a member of the band. We played at Syracuse for our opener but I didn't get to go. When we lined up for Pre-Game, the excitement was palpable. I didn't make a single mistake the entire show and I heard the crowd get louder and louder throughout the show. The loudest I have ever heard Neyland was when we started playing Rocky Top... until we opened the T. I was playing sousaphone (sound comes out right next to my ear) and I could not hear myself play when the players started running out. One of the best moments of my life behind marriage, children, etc. Also a great finish when UF missed the FG to end the game. It was better than the NC game that year and I still haven't heard Neyland that loud.

UT/?, 1999 - I don't remember who we played, but this was the first time my dad ever saw me march to the stadium. He was standing in the front row of a crowd of at least 20K at the Salute to the Hill. He caught my eye and the look of pride in his eyes was enough to make me tear up. (I'm actually misty as I type this.) Mom was there too but I couldn't see her. There's not too many things better than having your parents be proud of you. Somehow, who we played doesn't really matter with this game.

UT/LSU - The Monday game. Being so vastly outnumbered but coming away with an impossible victory was pretty freaking sweet.

1) TN arky 1998 - stumbled and fumbled Stoerner

I was also at some vandy game either, 98 or 00, where we shut out the team

I mean i've also been to the following UT games: 2 UCLA games (96, 09), a notre dame game (99), UGA (03), 2 peach bowls (03, 09)....I want to say there's a Miss St or South Carolina or Memphis or someone game in there too but can't quite be sure honestly; either way though, those weren't really momentous games: they were either blowouts by one team or another or close losses


Worthy of mention: I was at the 1999 Tennessee-Buffalo playoff game, the Music City Miracle

1. 85 Auburn- Being 10yo and seeing the goalposts come down for the first time was amazing. Plus I made $40 as a coke vendor from the guys in the upper deck buying full trays and dumping them on the AU visitors. Give me a break, I was 10 and found it funny then

2. 98 UF- Most electric I've ever felt Neyland. From the moment you walked in it until that kicked missed wide it was just a different experience. Haven't felt it before or since

3. 06 Cal- It was as if all the frustrations of 05 were let out during that game. It was full, loud and what a game. I couldn't talk for a few days but it was worth it. Plus I arrived in Knoxville for the game one day after the first date with my wife.

Are you talking about the 98 game with number 3?

that wasn't a bumbled snap. He tripped over his Olineman's foot while trying to roll out and tried to use the hand the ball was in to stop his fall....then he dropped the ball on the ground

Oh no you didn't!!!

It was the 1998 UT-Arkansas game...Arky had the game won...their QB Stoerner just had to take a couple of knees to run out the clock...however...as fate would have it....he took a snap and his center stepped on his foot...as Stoerner stumbled backwards he put out a hand to brace himself...unfortunately for him the hand he used was the hand that had the ball in it....we recovered the fumble and proceeded to run the ball 6 straight times en route to a game winning TD

Regardless of semantics...is there seriously any doubt which Clint Stoerner fumble I'm talking about?

1991 - Miracle in South Bend..

1985 - Sugar Bowl vs Miami.. 35-7

1982 - Broke the Bama streak..

2001 - Stephens runs wild over Gators.

1998 - WOW Gators... poor Stevie...

1990 - Webb runs wild over Hogs in Cotton Bowl

1985 - Dale Jones Int versus Bama

Been many others but probably my 7 best games..

Two of my games were actually hoops games, but here goes.

1) I was younger and cannot remember the year, but it was the UT vs UF game in Neyland, early to mid 90's and the field was covered in water. We won the game and I remember watching Smokey run full speed and dive like he was headed into 3rd base and he slid at least 15 yards.

2) As much as I hate UK... I was at the game where Jody Meeks dropped 54 on us and even after being in the gym for all but 3 of C-Lo's games, that was the best shooting performance I have ever witnessed... En Fuego

3) Storming the court after beating UF in dramatic style with the Dane Bradshaw steal and score

Go Vols!!!

Another of my favorites was actually last year. While walking to the UCLA game from our tailgate, there was a group of UCLA fans huddled under a tree. I stopped and loud enough for them to hear pointed and told my 4 year old son, "Look! They are under the tree's this year!"

Go Vols!!!

I figured. I had just gotten confused

bumbled snap brought more to mind him not being able to fully get the snap (like I guess maybe Clausen on that rainy day game)

doesn't really give the full description of how....well embarassing and stupid a move on Stoerner's part that that turnover was :p
