I've been feeling it a bit all year, but I really want to hate on Chaney after this one. I'm just not sure I can do it though.

We clearly missed Gerald Jones against OR and FL. When Poole left the game today, we had zero consistency on offense. I know Simms has limited accuracy, but I thought his WRs let him down on several throws today. I don't think it was Simms.

I know Oku is not the #1, but I wanted to choke Chaney for not eating clock in the 2nd half. We probably wanted to build Matt up this week, but we only succeeded in demonstrating how limited we are.

But: Just win, baby! Check that W.

Simms under throws a wide open TD, and Rodgers drops one that would put us inside the 20. Simms had wide open WRs all game yet he is terrible. I was confident last week that it gave him a little confidence that he played good at the end vs. FLA, but he is just bad.

Good grief--how can you hate on Chaney. We are young, not very talented and still learning how to play. How can that be Chaney's fault?

And that last call was brilliant

the conservative playcalling on both sides of the ball are not helping. we cant win games unless we take chances, and lots of them.

UAB just gained over 500 yds of offense on us, unreal.

Play calling was suspect at best. I don't understand why we just abandon the running game for long periods. The youth on the offensive line is really showing the last two games which isn't helping but we have to establish a run game or teams are just going to blitz and blitz.

It's not. They're young and inconsistent. They did not execute today. They will play like freshman from time to time. They will get better.

Line could not block UAB. Run wasn't working. Passing barely did at times when Simms had time and the receivers executed. Simms was hurried all day.

Pinning blame on one person is naive.

it's what's easy though, sadly. for alot of ut fans they would rathar do that than just accept the fact that we aren't that good this year. the playcalling of course isn't ging to look good to some when you can't establish either a running or passing game consistently against teams like uab. chaney definitely shouldn't be blamed right now. we're just bad all around and inconsistent in alot of key areas.

We can't seem to come up with anything to run the clock when were up. Just have simms run with the ball a few times or get creative with handoff to WR.

I don't think you can put the blame on Chaney for the same reasons you just stated. Not only do we have an Oline with zero experience but this game we are short our #1 wr and rb. Of course that's going to limit your play calling. We are young, inexperienced, and frankly not very talented; which is going to limit the amount of plays you can run.

I'm not sure who's calling for the substitutions in the running game, b/c it didn't make much sense the way we were rotating the rb's between carries.

Lastly, I may be the first to say this but UAB has some talent. Their QB Ellis has some stones taking those hits all day and made some great throws. According to Andre Ware (who I can't stand) their TE is an NFL prospect and their backs were fast and very shifty. Not making excuses just sayin... Still I just don't get all the anger and shock after our wins and losses when many on this board predicted nothing but bad things for this team all preseason...
