Just like I knew we would surely beat Ky last year. Just like I hoped we would beat fla, I hoped we would beat Georgia, I hoped we would beat miss state and had little hope of beating BAMA and no hope left. So Happy Gilmore keep hoping. The original post is straight up retarded and creates a circular argument. He doesn't want to know if we "think" we'll go 9-4, he wants to know if we "hope" we go 9-4. How cute is that? This team is NOT going 9-4 first and foremost, and that is because our coach is TERRIBLE!!! I think the vast majority of us would greatly enjoy being 9-4, but it will not happen. Book it!! Dooley is an awful coach and will continue to prove it!!

I kind of feel bad for Hart. He walked into a tough situation with an absolutely DREADFUL coach in place, an AD that is already paying for past mistakes, and will likely have to find another coach after this joke ends up 6-6 again. Truly a sad situation at UT.

Sorry the concept is too complicated for you. Its not that hard to play along with though. I hope we win out and retain Dools because we finish strong and avoid another coaching change. You can have the opinion that you want to win out and still fire Dools, if thats the case I hope you realize no one in their right mind would come here to coach when 9-4, in their 3rd season after a total rebuild, while only losing to top 15 teams, is not good enough. You can want us to lose a couple more games so there is no doubt that Dools will be fired. You can hope we beat USCjr and lose to someone like Missouri / Vandy or KY so that Dools still probably gets fired (worst case scenerio IMO). Bottom line is...because of the hatred for Dools, most of you if you are honest do not want this team to finish 9-4 because you know that means he stays. I dont think we finsh 9-4, but I hope we do. I can honestly say that I want to win out, can you?
Truth is, most of you beat around the bush and say "it aint gonna happen so it doesnt matter". Thats the cowardly way most have answered the simplest question of all....do you want to win? I do.

If we knew a SC loss would pretty much guarantee a marquee hire, which would guarantee marquee recruits, then yeah, it would be painful, but the end justifies the means.

I would tend to agree with this concept. Firing him while 3-5 removes all doubt about what to do if we were to miraculously finish 8-5. However, I will stick to my original high hopes of finishing 9-4 regardless of how unlikely it may be.

Anyone that looks at the talent on this roster and sees how poorly it has been utilized. Again it isn't about the record it is about how poorly we have performed on the field and how lost these kids look right now.

We are in a lot better shape right now than we were when we hired Dooley.

Dooley is not the answer and doesn't deserve one more year. Ron Zook was fired after 3 years with a better record, and he actually beat some teams when it matter. We will never compete for the SEC title with Dooley as coach, but lets keep him another year. Urg!

For the record, were down 14 at the half to USC jr and I still hope we finish 9-4 and Dools comes back next year.

If we lose, I still hope we finish 8-5. I also hope they go ahead fire Dools after the game instead of waiting till the end of the season. Sucks for the players and for us as fans but I will be ready to cut him loose. I wont be mad at him and I will appreciate his effort and his love for the traditions he embraced while here at UT. Wish him the best of luck. Bottom line.....the #1 tradition at UT is winning and i'm sorry to say but he hasnt embraced it nearly enough.

When one of the coaches we offered the HC job turned us down, he said "it will take a long time to get this team back to being competetive again and the fans will not allow it". He was right. I can't imagine what it has been like for the Dooley family. Young kids seeing/hearing what the "fans" put out there. Writing on the rock for players and families to see. So embarrassing. We all want to win. I don't think there was a long line of people trying to take the job. I doubt Dooley was ever hurting for money either. Give him some respect. He gave respect to UT when others did not.
