We were down 10+ points in both games. We learned how to fight back In both of those games and I think it will help us come SEC play because we definitely will need that experience when we play UF UGA and BAMA. We could have very easily just folded under the pressure of being down in those games and I'm proud of the way team 120 handled it!! Go Vols!

The good news is that those 2 games exposed some of our weaknesses so we know what we need to improve before SEC play without putting anything in the L column.

The bad news is that I'm not sure we have answers for our weaknesses. So we may have just exposed our weaknesses for our future opponents to exploit.

IMO Jumper is peanuts compared to our O-Line problem. I trust Shoop but I have no faith in Mahoney.

Jumper is far from good but I think Shoop can get him to be serviceable. Our entire O-Line with the exception of Jack Jones has regressed.

I agree. When I went back and watched the defensive plays again -- sure, Jumper wasn't great, but he wasn't terrible either. I trust Shoop to get him in position to make a play OR make a change during the game if needed.

Dead on!

Started with the Georgia game last year. This team won't give up.

actually one of my co workers is a die hard bama fan and actually really good to talk football with (i know, who would have thought! plus he's been letting all the SC fans at work here in cali have it after that "game" at jerryworld lol) and he said same thing. Said it is probably better in the long run rather than blow everyone out now and fold once some adversity hits against the big boys later in season.

Well, we all know Bama fans speak only with our best interests at heart.

That being said, I think he's probably right on this one. Let Florida be the team that gets cocky after blowing out UK, and think they're just gonna march into Knoxville and make it 12 in a row. In the meantime, we'll continue to fix the things that need fixing, and be waiting for them on the 24th.

I agree. I'm just worried about Jumper

I think this game will be an audition for him to prove that he belongs in the MLB spot before we hit conference play (which to all of us, it's obvious that he does not). I bet we end up seeing McDowell and Sapp get a lot of reps, too, and ultimately jumper on the bench.

I wish instead of always posting a negative comment about Jumper that we could see more things like I hope he has a good game. I hope he is prepared. He wears the Orange and White and needs support. Not constant ridicule.

I agree 100% however for many fans it goes w/o saying that they hope anyone who plays for TN has a great game all things you mention.

Colton Jumper's consistent missed; assignments, tackles, and lack of production is too glaring to miss. It will be exposed by offenses, as a discussion, it's not necessarily being negative to point the flaws. Nothing personal against a player, it's what the tape shows.

I disagree with the comments that he's trash. It's just that when he screws up it's a big play or a td.

I too went back and watched and stopped and rewound some plays to see players reaction. I came up with the same analysis you did on Jumper not great but seemed to get everyone lined up and serviceable. The weakest point on Defense I seen was #8 two PI.s and he bit and crashed down and lost contain on the 69 yard run leaving Kirkland and TKJR out there and they took bad angles and got smoked.
I also agree our biggest problemoverall is OL chemistry

We're averaging 2-3 PIs cause our DBs face guard in tight coverage, if you don't turn your head to look for the ball the ref will throw the flag cause you ain't playing the ball.
