Back in December. I’ve seen the mass exodus from our defense and Middleton today just really concerned me. So anyone who has any knowledge (I know wrong place for that question) what the hell is going on with our football program, specifically defense?

Let’s not get overly excited about the players leaving as they weren’t all that from what I’ve seen on the field for the past few years. Some left for the money, or lack thereof.

Andy Russell, talking about when Chuck Noll took over the Steelers: "So Coach Noll's first meeting, I'll never forget the speech he gave," said Russell, who became a highly successful businessman after retiring from football in 1976. "He gets up and says, 'I've been watching the game film since I took the job, and I can tell you guys why you've been losing.' You could have heard a pin drop in that room. He says, 'The reason you have been losing is you're not any good.'" he said, 'I'm going to get rid of most of you.' Five of us made it from that room to the Super Bowl in '74."

this coaching staff gave players expectations around football and being a student. Those not living up to coaches expectations will be sent packing. no matter how big that number becomes

‘I know I said it with each new coaching staff the last 13 years, but these coaches are really awesome and the answer to everything. Any player leaving is because they aren’t good enough for our new coaches. These coaches want dedication, commitment, and fortitude. They are incapable of making mistakes. These players suck because I hate Jeremy Pruitt and he recruited them. Really, any win this year is in spite of the players, except for the few transfer portal guys that Heupel brought in. They are exactly the type of player that best fits our system. We will go 9-3/10-2.’

‘Hieple sucks at recruiting and is a terrible coach. We are worse than Vandy and will go 1-11 if we can beat Bowling Green. This guy is the same as all the other guys. We never should have fired Fuller the first time.’

No. Just a general sense of things from watching a practice, the OW game, and a little bit of common sense.

Middleton clearly still has a lot of love for UT from his Twitter. If his transfer isn't PT related, enlighten me at your leisure.

I'm not the one that has made the claim as to know why he has entered the transfer portal.

The dumpster fire is still burning bright on Philip Fulmer Way nothing has changed
This is a lie and you're full of crap as usual, Nothing has changed.

It's worse than some think it is but nothing as bad as you constantly whine about.

We've got a lot of work to do but all it'll take is some decent football being played and a half a dozen wins this fall to change our direction and the future.

Sure, it's possible none of that happens and we lose every game and everybody starts crying for coach to be fired. Not sure why some of you don't take your own advice and "don't get your hopes up, let's wait and see what happens first". Works both ways.
