Before Gerald Williams, and Ben Martin dressed in full pads CPF gave them future AA status. CLK said Montori Hughes was the 2nd coming of Al Haynesworth; not to mention what he had to say about Nuke a few days after signing day. Of course we all thought BB would be the next Heisman winner. Now look what happened. After yesterdays scrimmage Double D was gushing about a couple of young LB's; Curt Maggit and AJ Johnson, but DD is not one to dish out praise unless it is deserved. Makes me feel a little better about the future of UT football since this is the position of most need right now.

Both of these kids are beast! Something tells me one or both will be starting at some point this season.

What I got out of Dooley's comments is that he just thinks they look like real good LBs. They are big, fast, and athletic. But he didn't make promises that they'll be all american or anything. I agree with you I do trust dooley more than the previous coaches.

To be All-SEC or All-American a lot needs to happen as far as development goes. Also luck on the injury side of things.

We'll see how it goes. But I agree with Dooley they're starting ahead of a lot of other freshmen around the country because they have the right size and speed etc.

True but no way would Dooley give all SEC or AA props to kids that havent even played a down yet. For him to give them any props at all says alot about how these two are playing in practice.

Trust is earned, and Dooley hasn't earned anything so far. I'm not looking to push him out the door. He hasn't had enough time yet to prove whether he can or can't get the job done. However, I'm not enamored with he or his coaching staff so far.

Umm,,,he took a team last year from the depths of disparity - to a bowl game. Considering what he walked into, and the amount of respect he has earned in his short time at Knoxville,,,I would rate CDD an A+ guy. As for coaching, he has assembled a very good staff, performed better than what any of us expected in recruiting, and all indications point to a much improved team this year. Whats not to like about CDD???

I have a couple of questions:

What are depths of disparity?

Is A+ the top rating for a guy, or is it AAA, and A+ is a couple of steps down from that?

Which win do you think was most impressive on the way to our miraculous bowl season?

Okay,,,depths of despair. Sound better.
A+ is top rating. All that triple A stuf is for number crunchers.
Actually,,,the most impressive was (gulp) a loss against SC. It was in that game that Bray came out on fire - and continued up until the NC loss. It was in that game where our team seemed to gel, mature, and decide that "Hey, we are the VOLS". I have every reason to believe we will be much improved this year.

Thanks. I was afraid there were some reasons for concern.
