with the exception of maybe a few possessions in the first half.

People need to lighten up on Fulmer. He's going to have a great bunch of players next season, and I'm impressed with how this team improved throughout this season. This coaching staff is fine.

The loss is a downer, but it's not the end of the world. It looks to me like the program is actually headed in a pretty good direction. I we have a decent recruiting class, I'll be pretty excited about the next three years.

Go Vols!

The lack of a running game really hurt the offense. In the 4th quarter, Ainge was throwing the ball when normally a team with any semblance of a running game isn't.

UF and UGA will both be BCS c-ship contenders for the next two seasons barring major defections for the NFL and/or a slew of key injuries. Sadly, UTK does not have that kind of talent right now. I am very uneasy about what will happen without Ainge behind center next year, even if he did just throw away the SECCG. JMO

I think the Vols' performance in the upcoming bowl game may be a good 'yard stick.'

The offensive line was having some trouble opening holes for Foster, and anything around the outside of the end was shut down because LSU's pursuit was so fast. They did a nice job, but we had some decent runs nonetheless.

Still, If we had been able to run between the tackles like LSU could, I think it would have been a different game.

Maybe they get stronger for next season though.

Oh... and I went to the bathroom in the Georgia Dome, and there was a pamphlet stating something about Slick Rick stuck to the inside of the toilet bowl. It was half dissolved, but I thought that was pretty amusing nonetheless. :)

I saw it as well, I could not help but chuckle while relieving myself...

Cutcliffe lost his balls somewhere between this year and last. I know we have below average WRs but anyone and everyone knows u HAVE to go downfield regularly to get the defense off the LOS. Our offense has sucked all year the stats are misleading.

Kudos to Chavis the defense played its ass off and u can tell there is no love between the o and d. Last week and this week ive seen at least 3 instances on tv where the d on the sidelines go off towards the o.

Cutcliffe is running the same offense he always had, with a few new wrinkles that we use and then abandon in order to try to protect a 1 point lead. More often than not, he makes the defense pick up the slack.

still hard for me to say GA is a BCS title contender. they are there because of eveyrone else losing this year. both should be good, both should compete with TN for the SEC E. i think next year, FL , GA and TN will all be about as equal as they may ever be, while all being considered at the "top".

That sounds about right.

Worst game Cutcliif has called all year!

Thanks for the insight. :ermm:

We saw the G-Gun; we saw Crompton try to plow his way through some LSU linebackers; there were some long passes attempted; the runs were varied. It looked to me like a well balanced game with a few really interesting plays thrown into the mix. There was a stretch during the first quarter where we didn't throw it at all, and that seemed to kill the momentum a bit. But other than that, I don't see the problem.

If the players had executed a bit better at times, I think you might be singing a different tune. So, do you care to rebut that?

Can anyone remember the last time UT's Coaching Staff made worthwhile adjustments at halftime or even during the game?

I'm not sold on UGA. We beat the pulp out of them. SC beat them. FL had a bad game/lots of emotion and a big rivalry. I believe that FL will be our major hurdle in the upcoming years. GA plays a weak non conference schedule. If you recall they struggled against VAndy much like we did. I cant remember how they did agianst KY.

with all the ongoing criticism about "conservative" play calling, what really sticks in my mind:

4th qtr, one pt lead, D has been keeping LSU off the board and is looking especially good since perry-loos finger injury ... backed up on our own 15 yard line, we start calling pass plays against the #1 D in the SEC, with a QB that has been shaky all game?

imo that isn't conservative at all. that is plain stupid.

play it safe, punt if you have to, let the D stick it to them and maybe get another turnover.

don't set the stage for a gift TD that will be nearly impossible to recover from.

we were sooooo close to taking the SECC, and instead we served it up to LSU at the 11th hour.

i really liked the GGun and some of the other things we ran, but that one critical series -- wow.

let me get this straight. you don't think UGA is that good? I'm just not sure what to say to that.

The coaches called the winning game. 2 missed fg's. Two int's. One inside thier 20 and one inside our 20.

All things equal the score should have been 27 to 16 . (scoring opportunities on both sides)
