we played this year. Then they played Tulsa. Ouch. Is this a sign of things to come or just Tulsa catching an Oklahoma team after a huge win?

OU would lose at least 4 games in the SEC in my opinion. Heck, they may lose 4 playing a Big 12 schedule.

I don't think Ok is a great team. Tulsa is eating their lunch on O. Especially with the middle of the field which is wide open....just like last week

Tulsa's offense averaged about 420 yards a game last year and was primarily a passing offense. Oklahoma never showed that they could handle a passing attack -- they just showed they could outpressure UT before we could make pass plays. Tulsa's OL was ranked in the top 25 last year (they didn't give up a lot of bad plays, basically) and is built out of seniors and juniors with experience, so I imagine they're handling what OU is trying to send at them and forcing them to play honest with coverage. Eh. Just different teams at different places.

Watching this OU defense some today, makes one cringe even more over why UT didn't open up on offense more. Tulsa is shredding them.

in other news what's up with Mizzou getting handled by crappy non-conference opponents two years in a row...could Uconn be this year's indiana?

Overlooking a weak team.
Mizzou just intercepted uconn with less than a minute to go to win 9-6.
Ark. Lost, Auburn struggled, Florida struggled against what should of been easy wins.
Based on these games we should easily beat
Mizzou Ark and Uf, but we know this means nothing.

Last weeks debacle was not caused by terrible offensive play calling.... Horrible offensive line play (Debord and Mahoney) and the WRs not making route adjustments, due to the inability of recognizing corner blitzes (Azzanni), was the downfall.

Quick slanting them to death.
Tulsa coaches understand how to attack pressure

Hm well, Tulsa had a good offense last year and return 9 starters, including 8/10 in their two deep on the OL.

Still, that they have scored 31 does reflect poorly on us.

Maybe Tulsa just doesn't have the youth and depth issues that we do.

Their QB looks solid, wonder if his QB coach came from Fort Hayes State too.

Quick slants and wr screens should have been called.

Debord and jones should give dobbs green light to audible to quick routes when defense is showing blitz.

I guess you think Jacksonville State is just good as Auburn as well right?

Some of you don't know anything about football. Don't overreact to week to week things. Oklahoma obviously sleep walked into this game like Auburn did last week.

Well not bashing our coaches (well kinda) but i have said since Cutcliffe left why doesn't our team ever call quick slants? It's almost always a surefire 5 or 6 yards as long as the QB and receivers can play basic pitch and catch!

Tulsa's HC is Phillip Montgomery, the OC under Briles while Briles was HC at HS level, Houston and than Baylor. Montgomery is a hell of a coach. Good game. Didn't expect OU to blow past Tulsa. Tulsa also has some very good WR's.
