I think WVU made Pitt look a lot better than they are

If UT fails to bring enough pressure on their QB then it will be a tougher game to win. Many of the predictions I have seen from other posters have us winning by a comfortable margin. Pressure is the key imo. Last year PITT had the edge because Pickett was a better QB compared to Milton/Hooker. Teams that have the better signal caller typically win. I feel good about our offense scoring points and think we have the advantage at QB this time. Our Defense needs to have a solid performance.

Pressure is key, and we got 0 Qb sacks last week. We get a chance tomorrow to show that was a fluke.

I remember before the ‘06 championship game, Lee Corso said the Buckeyes were sick of hearing about SEC speed and they were going to “line up, hit ‘em (Florida) in the mouth, line up, hit ‘em in the mouth.”

How’d that turn out?

Different era, different teams, and the SEC speed didn't phase Pitt last year.

I also have never let anything Corso says enter my short or long term memory LOL.

Simply saying the Vols can expect a more physical opponent than last week.

I expect a Vols win though with a year in the system and fewer mistakes than last season.

I don’t know if Pitt is good, however, I think today we find out if we are any good. I came away with zero after ball state. The talent gap was way too big to have any type of gauge. Players look faster stronger bigger playing against inferior competitors and coaches look better. Even if Pitt is no good we still will have a better understanding of what we look like. That is what makes this game so important. If we come out and dominate, then we are on correct trajectory and getting closer to top sec teams. If we don’t dominate but win, we are middle of pack sec and will probably lose to the better sec teams and be in dogfights all season. If we lose, I’m afraid it says that we probably have not progressed as much as we hoped.
I’m also curious as to how florida looks against ky, as I believe there is very little to take from their first game either.
