I think we will beat Florida

IF we don't play 10 yards off there WR's then we have a chance we go about 5 deep with our Db's and the way to beat the spread is to have capable Db's so I think we will play more 4-2-5 looks and your DT's must control the middle of the field....with Stan now our RB's coach he will have some insight on the offense but urban myth will change it I'm sure...and if we run the ball 50 plus times we win
You think they might stick to whats working for more than one play?

1. Tebow decides to opt out of school and return to the mission field.
2. Harvin and their punt returner both tweek their ankles.
3. Urban Meyer decides in the next few days to become a catholic monk.
4. Their entire defensive line is caught robbing a bank at gunpoint.
5. Chavis retires this week.
6. Fulmer accepts a buyout this week.
7. Clawson decides running the ball is a good idea.

Did I leave anything out?
:mf_surrender:
All we need is a little of phil's magic dust to make all that happen. Maybe a perfect storm or two.

So you're saying there's a chance...

Lloyd: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me... ending up together?
Mary: Well, that's pretty difficult to say.
Lloyd: Hit me with it! I've come a long way to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
Mary: Not good.
Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary: I'd say more like one out of a million.
[pause]
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance.

Crompton will have it together by then and the pressure will be on Fulmer and crew to win.

Clawson will do well. Last year he lost to Vandy by almost 30 in the first game before going to the championship game.

Lincoln wont miss that many field goals in another game.

Running game was much improved. It will probably be used more in the future.

DEs will get more pressure and GW will make defense better.

Your probation officer should drug test you!!!!

Ahh, whatever. I say, "Go VOLS, win 'em all."

But then I see Fla, Ga, Aub and Ala on the schedule and I say "Go VOLS, beat somebody, even if it's Vandy."

This is an interesting take and I heard something similar from Chris Low on Nashville sports radio earlier today. If UT circles the wagons and truly have their backs against the wall, a Florida upset (although unlikely in any scenario) becomes at least a remote possibility. If we squeak it out against UCLA I think Florida beats us by 30 regardless.

You know in any other year i'd agree. But not with this bunch. There is too big a talent gap. We might make it entertaining but the turds have too many weapons. Come on if we can't slow down a third stringer with ragtag offensive line. Whats superdoushebag going to do to us.

I will be the first to admit that Fla has more talent on their entire team but looking at our starters vs theirs, I think it's pretty close. Are their defensive backs so good that our receivers can't get open? I don't think so. Are their receivers too much for our defensive backs to handle? Not in my opinion. Do their stable of running backs have more talent than ours? Not by popular belief. My point is that the talent level won't be what beats us in this game. If we lose, it will be because we have a defensive coordinator incapable of coming up with a scheme that picks on an opponents weakness or allows for adjustments when the opponent starts favoring a certain play or tendency. Our defensive backs are athletically capable of playing against any group of receivers in the country. Without an aggressive gameplan that will put pressure on the quarterback, no group of db's will perform consistently. Another problem for the Vols is that depth on the defensive line could become a problem in a game like this. The difference in Fla and UT right now is that the 2nd and 3rd guys on their team are better than our 2nd and 3rd guys. If we can avoid injury and stay in great shape, this problem will be much less of a factor. I honestly believe that our coaches have the talent on the field to stay with Fla stride for stride and with a little innovation along the way,we can win this game. Our offense looks very capable, at times, of scoring some points. The problem is that they aren't on the same page but 1 out of 5 plays. If we can become more consistent and gel as an offensive unit, we might be a good offensive team. Our offense is new to the program with a new OC and will take some time to figure out. We all knew this coming into this season so the shock factor seems to be way too high on this board right now. We might have thought they would be a little further along at this point but time will help them figure it out.The bottom line is that the mistakes that were made on the field last night are very fixable and I think that we all agree that this team is full of talent and playmakers that are waiting to explode. If our coaches will lose the stubborness and listen to reason, we have as good as a chance as ever at competing for an SEC championship. There are way too many people on this board freaking out right now. This loss may be the best thing that ever happened to this team. Also, this off week may have fallen at the best time for us with the need for offensive repititions and all. I'll be the first one to tell you that we need a new head coach but it is what it is and he is what we have this year. Let's make the best of the situation and not overreact like some already have.

I would be real surprised if we won but I still don't buy into the FLA. hype yet. Last year they were so hyped and really (cough) Tenn was about the only team that made them look like they might live up to it.

Nowhere on planet Earth would that post be considered funny. It is an afront to the gods of humor that you laughed at your own joke like that. Under no circumstances should you ever do that again unless a trusted friend indicates to you that something you say is actually humorous.

Reminded me of this...

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Two touchdowns and it will be well justified. They'll probably have no problem covering. Bet the house and farm on the turds.
I think I remember several posters saying the same thing about UT against UCLA
