I think we have a good shot at....

Maybe Art Evans will tweak an ankle in practice or something or maybe spontaneously combust from all the times he's been burnt. Then we got a shot.

beating South Carolina.

First let me say that I always look at upsets alittle different and if we were to put talent against talent then we lose.

What I see is:
1) Tennessee wanting a win badly. These kids are looking for a spark.
2) The WILL to prove they can beat someone they aren't suppose to.
3) Show everyone that they can play every down, every quarter
4) South Carolina looking ahead at Ark and UF plus getting caught thinking about a possible SECE title.

I posted a thread about Georgia running all over us because they were due a big win and we were up next.

I think on a smaller scale, we are due a win and SC could get caught looking ahead. If you show us blood right now, we may fight tooth and nail for that W.

Go Vols

Note: I have had 3 glasses of Kool-aid today but it tastes good.

I hope you are correct, because the photo of my wife remains my avatar until they win an SEC game... I am afraid I may have to wait till sometime late next year to change it

the second two are not even in the same league as the first three.

Lattimore and Jeffrey are two of the top players in this conference.

Lattimore might not have very many explosive runs yet, but he doesn't go down on the first and in many cases second tackle. The kid just has a nose for the endzone.
If you don't believe me then look at the difference in red zone production for Carolina from last year to this year. Lattimore is completely responsible for the rise in production.

Now onto Jeffrey. He is easily a top 3 receiver in the SEC. Green, Childs and Jeffrey are at the top in this conference. That isn't a shot at Julio. Phenomenal talent, but he is always injured and not nearly as consistent as the first 3. These guys produce week in and week out.

Just because those 2 guys play for Carolina doesn't mean that they aren't elite players. Ol Ball Coach landed a couple studs and it is paying off for him this year.

Our key will be moving the ball on offense. Our offense needs a huge spark, but if we come into this game with the same offensive gameplan like we have the past few games with the same personnel it'll end up roughly the same outcome.

Finishing. We need finishing. We can move the ball 50 yds often, but can't finish with pts.

That is offensively. Defensively, we need to play frenetically to "play through"/hide our depth probs.

Anything can happen in the SEC. The VOLS has as good a chance against S.C. as any other team. DON'T EVER GIVE UP...Give these kids a chance to learn what SEC football is all about.

They are all in the SEC right? Just kidding. We're dealing with the same talent level I think, just not the same amount of experience on the field. Alshon now has 1 year after not starting until the 6th game of 2009.Lattimore has half that, but 1 year does not a career make. Put pressure on Garcia and things can change in UT's favor imo.

SC is so good against the run that this one is going to rest largely on the QB.

Alabama was no slouch. Poole might still break one. I'm not even going to speculate about this game. The Cocks have a nasty habit of choking against teams they should beat. Hopefully this is one of those times.

Well put. They were both 5 star recruits from SC.

5) I'm 20-2 in games attended and will be in Columbia saturday!

Ok, maybe that doesn't work too well when you have the lack of depth we had, but certainly won't hurt! Go Vols!!!
