My brother lives in Austin and I go there 2-4 weeks every year. Austin has its own vibe for sure. Very family oriented(read everyone has 3-5 kids) and laid back. More Berkeley than LA.

Keep the east and west and have 8 teams in each, top 2 teams from both divisions go to a conference semi-final, then winners play in conference championship. 7 division games plus 3 other conference games, cut 2 OOC games to make a 12 game reg. season.
That way there is a max of 15 games for the conference finalists.
