You guys might disagree with me but I truly feel that this team is worse than the 2005 team. The difference in this team is that they have recieved TONS of breaks in close games. You have to admit that we are VERY blessed that we haven't had a tragic year this year!

We were lucky to beat Vandy, USCjr., MSU, and Southern Miss( the gam was ALOT closer than the score)

Heck Alabama beat us 41-17 and UL-Monroe just beat them!

It just shows that we are so pitiful/lucky!
GO VOLS!

Yeah, we disagree. We are one win away from SECG. Stupid thread. Football is about winning.

You are what your record says you are. 2005=5-6. 2007=8-3. There's no comparison.

I realize that. Im just saying we could easily be 6-5/5-6 instead of 8-3. We have caughten the breaks in close games this year unlike 2005(except for the LSU game).

We are 8-3, period. And what is "caughten"?

Do you guys remember 98 we won alot of close games just like Florida did last year... Our 1st game of the year was Donavan Mcnabb and co and it went down to the wire...

Any team could say that about any season. There are always close wins. We're 8-3. That's all that matters.

And then squeeked it out against Florida in overtime the next game....and later needed Arkansas to fumble late to win.

But we still have the NC, and that's all that matters.

You know, I can't let this go without saying: The sign of a good team is resilience and finding a way to win. Yep, they could have folded at the beginning of the 4th Q, and we would have ripped em to shreds (just like we are doing now, even though it wasn't pretty they still they won), but they didn't. They hung in there and made plays when they HAD to and defensive stops when they HAD to ( minus that stupid pinhead pass interference call). Whatever the game was like for 3 quarters matters little when the fourth quarter is over. I'll take a win anyday of the week!

Just like Florida caught all the breaks last year? Tennessee didn't catch the close breaks and got lucky against South Carolina and Vanderbilt, they made the critical plays to win those ball games. Find another angle.

We seemed to find ways to lose in '05 and as painful as some of our games are we have found ways to win this season. Vandy could say the same thing. They had Ga beat and fumbled. They roughed the kicker today and the Vols put up 16 points in the 4th quarter. 8-3 with a chance to go 9-3 and make Atlanta if we can put it together against a very good Kentucky team.
