I think the NCAA just wants to find a reason.

I think they are wanting to find something to get us in trouble. Here is my take on the whole thing. They went to Bynes and this is where our 2 recruits are. If i am not mistaken, didn't they come to a lot of home games? Could these guys not be "hanging" with these girls? I mean if you are not able to "hang" out with girls then I am glad I didn't play collegiate sports. These girls knew them from a camp and said they wanted to come watch them play sometime. They probably didn't think they would go and then the guys kept coming to the UT games and the girls probably had a good time with the guys so why would they not? And Lattimore is pissed because the girls didn't think he was cute lol jk.

This is the dumbest thing I have seen in an investigation by the NCAA. We are not guilty until proven so and don't forget we thought we were in trouble with Bryce and nothing happened. IMO the coaches had no idea the girls went down there and this should not be a big deal.

I think someone from UF or ALA. turned us into the NCAA........revenge maybe?

The NCAA is becoming a joke. This is a highly unusual investigation that would not have occurred this time of year ANYWHERE except UT. This has Slive, Meyer, and Spurrier written all over it.

Yeah Lattimore probably felt left out or something. Since when is it a crime to go to a highschool game and hold up signs. Doesn't recruiting include trying to "lure" a kid to your school? Where is this going to stop? We have had these hostesses for yeeeeeaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssss, and now it's a big deal. Every school uses hostesses in some fashion.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHO IS BEHIND THIS.
Fulmer(pissed), Bama(openly pays kids), Florida/FSU/Miami(getting their recruits),

I FIND IT FUNNY, KIDS THE NCAA IS INTERVIEWING.

This is something they do every year. They choose certain schools and to spot check they high profile recruits and ask them questions to check and see if the recruiting process is being followed properly. They did it at STA to Major Wright (Florida) and Sam Young (Notre Dame)when they were seniors at STA.

I'm going to self report here: I'm a fan of Tennessee football and I love it. When Jeff Luc visited, I walked down to the endzone and told him I was happy he was here and would love to have him play for the University. SORRY HE DIDN'T COME, I GUESS I CAN'T RECRUIT WORTH A DAMN. MAYBE IF I WAS A HOT CHICK IN AN ORANGE SKIRT, HOLDING A SIGN, HE WOULD HAVE CHANGED HIS MIND. This is a major stretch and desperate move by someone

this can not be more than a secondary right? i mean what is the biggest harm this could have done? Were they not alreadey committed when they went down there?

Why don't they investigate how Bamer got someone from Flint, MI to go to tuscaloosa and "lure" a life long Auburn fan in Julio Jones to overnight become a Bama fan. WHEN YOU PLAY BY THE RULES IT MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD HATE YOU. Until they find paid mortgages and Cadillac Escalades, we have nothing to worry about.

When I first read wide spread investigagtion, I thought they were going to look into Fulmer.

Who cares, not like other programs dont do it. Its just CLK has the hickorys to say his mind, not like CPF. They just aren't use to this program with BRASS in the jeans. This is the stupid to even investigate.

Lane Kiffin has become the Tiger Woods of the NCAA coaches ..... I do NOT mean that as a bad thing either.... He is so popular with recruits that the NCAA would love see him fail. The timing of this, in their speaking to recruits BEFORE the Feb. signing date is evidence of that fact. We will be ok with recruits.... Lane's the man

Couple thoughts here from a Gator fan.

1) UF did not turn UT in. I'm an insider at GC and trust me when I say there'd be people/fans bragging about this (not me, I wouldn't cheer something like that).

2) If this is the best the NCAA can find, then you guys are doing pretty good. This is laughable and if anything at all will earn a slap on the wrist.

Besides, any publicity is good publicity, right?

thanks for not bashing us when you had the chance. i CAN hear us getting mocked for "you guys send girls to scout your recruits" or something to that effect. as for the "any publicity" thing, i am pretty fed up with hearing bad news about UT football in the papers lately. I was hoping for a quiet december, with mostly reports about recent commits and practice updates. i didn't even know hostesses going to games would be considered a violation-unless (obviously) UT orchestrated it, gave the players anything, or taped the game from the stands. when i was an athletic trainer in S. Tennessee, we'd have 'scouts' in the stands all the time for football and basketball. Does the university have to notify the school before they send a scout?

If he's cheatin' on his smoking hot blonde wife with some trailer park floozie I'll personally drive to Knoxville and:

a) Beat him till he shines....
b) Gladly console his distraught wife....

On the bright side, at least you don't have to read about Lane having an affair with 6 cocktail waitresses, 2 porn stars, etc etc etc.

This isn't just an NCAA driven gig. Slive and a coach are all over this. Whoever turned the NYT on to this should be beaten because of its lame nature.

Bama fans are probably behind all of this---spreading dirt about UT. They're still mad at their last probation and blame it all on Tennessee.

I seriously doubt this, but for what it's worth you might as well blame all coaches in SEC. Everyone except yours

If our coach orchestrated this, he'll get the blame. Regardless, it's still just a meaningless whine to Slive by one of the butthurt coaches in our conference.

It's not like our fanbase is going to go all AL trailer park and blame Saban because we were intentionally committing egregious violations and got caught.
