If the past several coaching searches tell fans anything, it's that UT is more than likely not going to hire a "big" name coach. They have shown that they are willing to spend money but so are most other schools. I hope that changes but I would not get my hopes up on Freeze, Kingsbury, or anyone similar. It also doesn't necessarily mean that others wouldn't be a better fit. I don't think Freeze is the longterm solution anywhere. I could be wrong but I would assume that he wants to be a head coach again and will probably jump at his first decent offer. I don't think that longterm it would benefit UT or its players to be going through another coordinator search a year or two from now. UT needs success and stability

Personally, I want our HBC hiring staff that are so good other schools are coming after them for higher level jobs. That means they have been successful here.

Hugh Freeze at Alabama would spell doom for any hopes of beating them for the foreseeable future

What a better way to make a name for yourself than go to a school that plays BAMA every year and comes in a beats them. I feel like that would do way more for your name and career than plug and play at BAMA. Just think in a couple seasons if we were to beat BAMA with Freeze at OC, the headline would read, "VOLS couldn't beat BAMA for 15 years and in 2 seasons Freeze takes down college footballs best!" To me, that's way better than getting lost at BAMA. Let's be real any decent OC looks like a champ at BAMA, but when they leave just mediocre.

I can tell you that Pruitt was photographed yesterday at Briarcrest High School...where he (Freeze) coached before Ole Miss....

Could be visiting Omari Thomas, 4* OL in the 2020 class. Just a guess unless he's meeting with admin regarding Freeze. Idk.

Well he can't go to Auburn as Chip has a retention bonus that hits on Saturday and Auburn has told Gus he can't hire a new OC for more money than Chip was making. That means we can outbid Freeze. I'm sure he isn't hurting for money, but if we can pay him same as Helton, that's almost a half million more than Auburn/Lindsey and Freeze would pretty much be free to run the offense. We need to lock this hire in quickly because Locksley and the Maryland job is holding up any moves Bama can make.
