I Think Jarrett Guarantano is Trying to Tell us Something ...

We are starting a FRESH search and some of you want a half decent offensive coordinator with zero head coaching experience, never stayed in a job longer than two years, scored an 11 on the wonderlic, and recruits at USC by hitting the easy button. Just flat out laughable to even be mentioned as a candidate.

New search, new hope.
Go big or go home, this hire is too important.

He’s been at USC 5 seasons.

As a coordinator. Head coaching is a different ball game. Let him do something as a head coach then talk to me.

Everyone has to start somewhere. I think the situation is set up for perfect timing. He may fail, but he may not. He couldn’t be any worse than the last 2.

Not the same job at USC, but he played QB at Tennessee in 98. Should be enough.

If one was properly motivated, they could parse any candidate’s resume to fit a narrative. :)

To 14volfan88,if you think that Tee Martin would be a disaster because he has never been a head coach before, then, you would NEVER allow a lowly receivers coach to be hired as a head coach somewhere-then you would not have Dabo Swinney as Clemson's head Coach. You are the disaster.

I see it like this. I'm forever grateful to Tee for his part of the 1998 National Championship. I watched some videos of him running the ball and throwing deep passes and he was amazing.

As far as coaching though, Tee simply just does not have enough experience to come in to Tennessee especially in the current situation as a head coach, fresh off the first 8-loss team in 100+ years of history. Due to the difficult situation and environment, few if any coaches would be successful. I think it would be a disservice to Tee to bring him in to that even if he would agree to it.

I agree that he is too inexperienced for this mess , however he is a smart guy and if he wanted to try I'd be more than willing to let him.

I don't understand why people can't see this. Tee Martin is gonna be a good one.He deserves a shot.

I just think at this point the deck would be too stacked against him. If he had head coaching experience then fine. Or even if he were a coordinator being promoted here. He has no experience and would be coming into a dumpster fire, I don't call that giving him a chance. I call it setting him up to fail.
