Wouldn't have been contested or a 3. Michigan had 3 guys on other side of court and doubled off McRae on Stokes. That left McRae wide open on the elbow. You have to really not want to look if you can't see it

I don't have to watch the replay, it was a flawed design, play failed I would have been surprised if it had worked.

McRae and Richardson got us back in the game. Get one of them the ball moving towards the basket. The play call is a much bigger issue in my mind than the foul. Putting Stokes in that spot after he'd been shut down most of the game is a low percentage play.

As for the foul call, I would say the Michigan player flopped. However he was set so it wasn't a block, IMO. Close call so I'm not really overly concerned with that.

With 9 seconds left the player who catches the inbounds is going to get doubled. Stokes is the best player we have at passing out of a double team. We were going to end up with a really good look if Stokes didn't push a little too far into the lane and the ref didn't go full retard.

Also Michigan was denying Richardson and McRae on the inbounds obviously. Only way to get them the ball would have been far away from the basket and probably running away from it. Would have been a lot harder to get a good look.

So according to two of you, Martin was going to rely on either Stokes getting a foul called on his defender or McRae getting ball at top of key with 4 seconds left, some of you are less intelligent than Martin

So you just want to hate, I see. Play didn't work, but it wasn't by poor design. Anyone with an inkling of common sense knows that ball was getting kicked out to McRae, who by the way had a lane the size of Texas to drive in.

I watched the replay and can agree. I didn't see McRae cutting the first time.

I still think we could've put Stokes in a much better situation though. Even if you don't call the charge, McRae's man knocked the ball away.

Wait, so martin is an idiot? and can't coach? is that why he had his team in the sweet sixteen and his team only lost by two to a team that shot 55% from 3?

He may not be Coach K or Izzo... but I don't think he's an idiot or a terrible coach either. He's proved that.

You all would have said it was a brilliant play call either way, it's clear he can do no wrong. No matter who the ball went to or where they got it the play design would have been brilliant.

Does not matter if he knocked the ball away if the defensive foul was called on their big man - it was a 50-50 who got to that spot first but most often offensive players get benefit of the doubt in that type of situation (especially that far away from the rim). I also felt that their big guy got away with at least 2 fouls in the first half when he was showing Stokes around (had to really push him for that to be so obvious since everyone knows he is no easy to move). But of course the refs swallowed their whistles (I think that Michigan coach is very popular with the refs - see a lot of that in their games).

Bingo. Get it to Stokes, they drop to double, Stokes passes it off to a guard who drives. Stokes passes pretty damn well for a big guy, just went a little aggressive and should've gotten rid of it earlier. Stuff like that happens at the end of a sweet 16 game. Good play call.

So, we lost by 2 to a very good Michigan team, who played outta their minds in the first half, in the sweet sixteen; and some of you are still calling for the coaches head???

Some of you are impossible... I look forward to seeing what we can do with this momentum! We had a good run! Enjoy it!!!

Beating multiple teams in an NCAA tournament by double digits is impressive... so yeah, that's what impressed me.
