I think it was a pretty good move by CBJ to throw us a bone.....

Don't understand why he started running in a throwaway non Conf game. Wish they'd have saved it for OleMiss. Clearly, when OleMiss watches any other tape they would've seen that he NEVER keeps the ball and they would've just crashed their ends to stop the run. I think we maybe could've stolen a couple 5-6 yd runs, a first down or 2 with an element of surprise by him keeping it for the first time all year. Oh well.

Probably just testing to see if he can actually run or is simply a statue

I would say since the coaches have seen him run the zone read all spring & summer in practice and don't want him to do it in a game, there is probably a good reason.

You can't play this game with a fear of injury. If the read is there, take it. IMO, a lot of injuries happen when guys are either loafing around or trying not to get hurt.

How did that work for RG III?

by allowing Worley to run the football. Worley did pretty good. Do you think we need to continue to let Worley run the football to get six wins?

So Butch's master plan was to unleash Worley after UT lost it's 1st two conference games by a combined 4 points? :loco:

Not good in the NFL. RGIII is stupid. There's a line between aggressively taking what's there as opposed to thinking that you're the second coming of Earl Campbell.

If you're talking about college, he was a heisman trophy winner and the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

I do. Even if he just runs 3 yards and slides, the threat has to be there for this offense to work properly. JMO
THIS!!!!!! a thousand times over again as well .. Worley has to take it upfield at the minimum once per half .. just a MUST to give our OL and running game half a chance ...

He doesn't run at all against OK, UGA and FL and we lost all 3 of those. The people that say if he gets hurt, then we are done. Well, 0-3 equals to done to me.

Therefore, Worley needs to run more, take some pressure off the line and Hurd. Also, most of our run plays get nothing because of the lack of an option. This puts us in 2nd or 3rd and long and therefore a lot of pressure on our OL when the other "good" teams bring the house.

Yes, Worley does have a better chance of getting hurt, but this is football. He could get hurt at any moment trying to complete all the 3rd and longs that we have.

I honestly think he's more prone to injury getting shellacked and blindsided while standing in the pocket. At least when he's on the move, he can typically see the hit coming and slide if necessary. JMO

Agree. Not throwing INT's will also help us win games as well.

Let him run. Seems to work for Ole Miss. Bo Wallace runs all the time and he has escaped injury so far this season. I don't think Ole Miss would be undefeated if Bo wasn't running. No way their offense could have just been handing the ball off and throwing passes without allowing Bo to run and have had the same success.

Worley should be required to keep it on the (gap) read option at least 3 times per game. It's no different than him getting sacked 8 times a game and it will keep defenses honest.

Justin has ran the ball in every game, just in the wrong direction. The OL needs to bear down and get the job done.

Wallace isn't getting sacked 4 times per game on avg or taking the hits Worley is.

Let him run when the opportunity is there. It may just stop him from getting creamed in pocket as much.

When he has run the ball, he actually looks fairly athletic. He needs to pick his spots and go for the sideline or slide. I don't know his run per attempt average, minus the sack yardage, but it has to be over 5 ypc. He seems to throw pretty well on the run, too, even to his left. I held my breath when he ran over that Moc at the goal line last week, but it turned out fine.

If you look at the offense, most of the handoff plays are read option. Worley hasn't pulled the ball and kept it until UTC. There have been plenty of times that he could've pulled it and had open option outside to tuck and run.

He looked good against UT-C, which is a FCS school. Good luck against Ole Miss and Bama. If he were to go down, our season would be in trouble.

Our season may already be in jeopardy

If Jones is going to run an offense like this, the QB has to run a little

He has to keep to get this offense some room. Whoever said run 3 yards and slide is right... He needs to run and eliminate these negative rushing plays. If they crash keep and advance a yard or two then slide if hit is coming... May even draw a penalty on them if they hit after slide

I think by running it against UTC he may have opened himself up for more questioning down the line if we don't see Worley keep it a few times in another game
