BJ Coleman was 4 star and 10th ranked pro-style QB in his 07 class. For some reason, Fulmer and company never worked to develop him and wrote him off for Crompton and Stephens. Crompton is Crompton. Nick has fire but appears to be very undisciplned. BJ has hung in there and his raw talent has shown flashes of excellence as well as has shown immaturity from the lack of attention from the coaches. BJ threw 19 TD's his Jr. and Sr. years respectively. I think CLK already knows this guy could be the answer.

JMHO...We may already have a "Tom Savage" with some development and coaching.

I guess we will find out. Although I can not personally picture BJ taking us to a championship.

Not really arguing, because I really just don't remember. When did BJ show any flashes of greatness? I don't really think he's shown much of anything yet. Not enough for me to say one way or the other.

Where are these flashes of excellence. he would be an ideal solution except for lack of armstrength, poor decision making and bad fundamentals. bj coleman is not the answer. if we have to go with these guys next year, see if crompton can turn it around and really work on developing stephens. coleman is no better than third

So how do you explain nearly 40 TD passes in HS his last 2 years, ranked 10th best in the nation, and then coming to UT and riding the pine? Just a question and "levels" is an easy answer so skip that one...40 TD's doesn't simply disappear at any level.

We're rumored to have Allan Bridgford interested in us, a top ranked guy who's breaking Mark Sanchez's high school records. Supposedly he's called Kiffin and said he's interested. So maybe we do have something, but who knows.

The goal may not be for him to take us all the way to a championship, but maybe just to be a serviceable QB in the Kiffin system until the true championship OB gets to Knoxville in the coming years.

He played at McCallie and most of their competition was against TN high school teams.

He was a good high school QB, but c'mon

It is hard to show any flashes with a OL like we had this is where it starts I never see a QB show flash from his but

tee martin had a lot more talent than bj coleman. i wanted to see what coleman could do after the disasters of stephens and crompton. i got what i asked for and now im asking to never see coleman under center again. Crompton is the only one of our quarterbacks that even gave us a chance this year. he made a lot of mistakes and bad decisions, but the only times our offense looked good this year, crompton was the qb

Well my good friend Mullett has arrived...Surely the other 2 QB's are not your solution...What shall we do? I've got serious money that BJ will sit you down next season. McCallie or not.

I go to UT. I've talked to players. I seriously think 95% of our problem was that the offense never got in synch. It didn't matter who the QB was, the players themselves were not comfortable with the offense, and by the midpoint of the season I know an offensive starter who gave the distinct impression that the team as a whole had very little confidence in the scheme(or the QBs for that matter).

There's no way to know what we have in any of the current offensive players because they were never put in a position to be successful last year. QB may be a disaster next year. It may be that we don't have a legitimate D1 QB on the roster. But it also may be that we can manage with one or more of them if Kiffin gets a simpler and more effective offense in place and reinforces the discipline that left with David Cutcliffe.

Very good and well thought out point:salute:

has BJ really shown CLK enough "flashes" for him to hang his season on? How many highlights of this season could you really string together for him? I seriously doubt any coach will choose a QB based on HS tapes

I've got Tahj and Bryce "No thanks" that says I'm half right unless he brings in Barkley or Savage.
