I still think Pruitt is the man

Tennessee beat a couple teams last year and also blew it vs other teams.

They recruited great, got some good coaches, had a super weak team all lined up and bam.........lost. Not just did they lose, the other team looked much better, and a bad D from last year looked worse.

GTFO, the man doesn't lose to GA State in year 2. If it was year 1, it could be forgiven. But not year freaking 2.
So if you’re the AD you gonna fire him 13 games in? Get a freaking grip dude.

I am not in the camp that says Pruitt is a bust and has to go, but today’s loss sucks.

I do think Pruitt needs 2-3 years of recruiting his guys to flush this program. He has a good staff as well. But this program’s mismanagement from past decade will take time to fix.

Anything can happen. Maybe JG pulls his head out of his rear, maybe our lines dramatically improve, maybe our coaches change their scheme in favor of a more basic approach. Don't see the team saving Pruitt - the complete lack of leadership on both sides of the ball was extremely notable. How do you recover from a disaster like that when your main guy - in year 3 - hasnt shown much, if any, leadership qualities on the field? Coaches seem just as lost as the team was. Not a good thing. JG should've been pulled late in the 4th after the game was already lost. You can't let a guy unravel like that at home. Totally unacceptable, but we all know that.

The only thing that will put a bandaid on this loss is if GA ST somehow puts up a crazy 10 or 11 win season and goes bowling. Even then, Vol fans are never going to forget this. Pruitt's got the hottest seat in america right now.

18 years is quite a bit longer than Bammers irrelevance streak
Yeah people refuse to see what is right in front of them, what is/has happened to the Vols isn’t your typical lull, we are in some serious trouble. The good news is we have everything we need if we just hire a good coach, the bad news is UT admin has proven they cannot do that.

I can’t explain why we lost. I don’t know how long it should take someone to build a decent defense. I don’t know why we haven’t been able to put it together. But I do like our coaching staff.

This loss is unacceptable, but we are in a rebuild. I’d hoped year 2 would be better, but it’s hard to replace 3 starters on the DL and there’s obviously some other challenges.

Don’t bail on Pruitt until after he’s had his chance with two of his own QBs.

Foolish.........

Sorry, I bailed out with the last parachute.

I have children older than GA State’s football program.

I have dogs older than GA State’s football program.

I have underwear older than GA State’s football program.

This staff was 100% unprepared and THAT speaks volumes. This was a defining loss and has really shown the state of our program... which is decades away from any relevance...if ever.

Just thankful for Rick Barnes.

Pruitt will never be more than a good defensive coordinator under the tutelage of a great head coach, which is perfectly acceptable. I don't think having his own qb's will suddenly turn him into an inspirational head coach. The most impressive coach on the sidelines today was the head coach on the Ga St side. The guy even sweated through the front of his pants.

.,,.......

Been in rebuild mode for over a decade...
Not this staff’s fault. Y’all are so privileged in this microwave society that you think if you whine and scream enough that your mommy will give you an immediate championship. Boo hoo

I'm lost at this point.

He is a football guy, Jones and Dooley were not.

I think we need a football guy. I do not understand what I saw today..

He’s a football guy who’s also a backwoods hayseed from Bama who has no desire to be here and doesn’t know how to communicate without using his Waterboy dictionary.

He just looks like he’d rather be anywhere else than here.
