I know a lot of people are hacked off at Kiffin (I'm not one of them but whatever). After this coaching search though, it became abundantly clear to me how terrible Fulmer was for the longevity of this program.

We couldn't find any promising coaches with strong UT ties b/c they don't exist. Fulmer was so afraid of losing coordinators that he hired guys that he knew wouldn't go anywhere else. He rarely if ever promoted someone with major talent to a position of importance. Consequently, there wasn't a plethora of UT guys out there to even go after. Gruden and L. Smith were the closest thing to "talent" and they were way down on the totem pole here at UT. Anyways, just wanted to vent my frustration.

Kiffin wouldn't have even been hired if Fulmer could have kept the wheels on the road instead of running it into the ditch.

As much as the Fulmerites would protest, the reason we were put in the position we were is because of his laziness. He sat on his laurels and thought he had a job for life. As much as he likes to think of himself as a TN man, he's actually the cause of this whole mess.
F Fulmer, I hate what he became and I hate what he did to the Univesity of Tennessee.

Good Grief...give it a break, are you excusing a weasel?

Look, if you bought into Kiffin hook, line, and sinker, then you were a fool. I was happy that we had him and that staff like everyone else. But, I knew that he would leave if USC or the NFL offered him. I don't understand how he was a weasel. He worked unbelievably hard for UT while he was here to build this program back up. Granted, he left at a really bad time, but that's college football. He had a chance to go home and take over a better program, and he took it. I don't blame him.

No need for it. Coach Kiffin did this to us. It was his choice. Its his fault. Just move on. Fulmer might have got too comfortable here, but he still loves UT and he would have never done this to us. Kiffin did us wrong. No need to excuse him

Fulmer ran the program into the ground and kitten bulldozed it, so I do blame CPF. I said it for years that he had no tree of disiples, all great coaches have a tree, he wasn't a great coach.

Kiffin was a result of Fulmer being lazy, Fulmer F'd the entire Vol nation with his ego, he was sure that he would surpass Neyland in wins. Guess what happens when you rest on you laurels, you lose.

Disagree...whatever he did to build the program up...he in turn tore down a hundred fold!

(Disagree)...that's a total weasel!

Disagree again...No program is better than Tennessee!

I bought into CLK hook, line and sinker. I saw alot of good talent come to life this season that wasn't there with Fulmer. I can't blame CLK for going home but can blame him for his timming. I only hope Dooley can coutuine what CLK has started. But with differance SEE IT THROUGH!!!!

Maybe you have overlooked the fact that CPF and his staff were loyal to UT(stayed here), and to each other...something that seems to not have much meaning to many right now.

Hey while you're at it dont forget to blame Majors for having losing seasons and causing UT to move Fulmer to HC....because that's where it all started.....

Fulmer is such a smug JERK. He looked upon what happened to TN as vindication, even offering his sevices as if it were ever needed. Fulmer served his time at Tennessee and if he was ever thought of as a good coach someone would have come after him. He wants Tennessee to fail to serve his fragile little ego.

And how much control did Kiffin have about when the USC job would open?

You're delusional.

Kiffin worked his rear off while he was here as did his coaching staff. I'm super annoyed about the situation, but if you're going to tell me that you wouldn't take the job of your dreams that will help further your career, then you're either a liar or a terrible businessman.

And, yes, USC is a better program than UT. Not because of tradition, but due to the ease of winning national championships and recruiting. It's not even close.

This has zero to do with Fulmer not grooming coaches which was my point. There's no reason that Fulmer shouldn't have a gigantic coaching tree that UT could pick from.

All of that said, I hope Dooley does well.
