I seriously question our offense...

How come we never throw the ball deep? Even after a big momentum shifting play, i.e. a big interception.

How come when it is 3rd and long, we throw the ball 1 yard short of the first down? Can we seriously not choose a receiver that is beyond the first down marker?

Why the hell would Ainge ever throw that pass? He is a senior freaking QB, he should know better.

How come when we finally get into the redzone, we run the ball up the middle in two consecutive plays for 0 yards then hope for a prayer of a pass.

It seems like we a constantly wasting plays, which makes up force things.

Something has to give next year. UT football is close to boring even for UT fans.

this has been discussed several times thru out the season, but primary reason numero uno is that we haven't had anyone at the WR position that separates from the DB. in every big play of this season, it was either a mis direction play (the throw to Foster on the 1st play of the KY game) a trick play (half back pass) or a busted coverage.

i can count on one hand how many times a WR caught a ball in stride and ran past a Def. back.

I dont know.. alot of people are calling out cut for calling plays like that. I think phil must have something to do with this. Our OC are just going along with whatever he wants.

why do we have to go over this week in and week out?

although, all that being said, I wish we would've tried to see if Jones could've pulled it off. He's got such an intitial burst, just send him deep. No specific route, just straight and deep and see if EA could hit him in stride.

We tried it with O'Neal. He didn't do very well figuring out which way to break the route. The ball was thrown so-so.

and o'neal has shown that problem time and again this season. Why we tried it with him again is beyond me. Noticed we even put Moore in the game some, but never saw him go deep.

When we did go deep with O'Neal in the game Saturday the pass was underthrown by 10-15 yards...perhaps Ainge and his arm strength is a big myth...

I think it could have been a mistake by o'neal. I think it was a designed play for o'neal to come back. But i never saw a replay of it to confirm it. Just what i saw live.

Paige, Oneil and Jones can add speed to the WR corp.

what they all need to improve on is route running...they have to be in the right place at the right time.

anyway.........i honestly think our WR's next year are going to be good. they weren't "terrible" this year, it was just obvious what we were lacking, and we still made it work more times than not. it wasn't all bad. it simply wasn't GREAT.

There is not a single receiver on our team right now that could start for any of the top 4 -5 teams in the SEC. Only Taylor would see time as a 3rd or 4th receiver. They don't run good routes at a speed that would cause separation from the DB and continuosly catch the ball with their body instead of their hands. The reason we don't throw deep is because the WRs can't do it.

um, tennessee is the second best team in the SEC. Perhaps you missed that.

Ok, smart @$$ Bill, name who on our Wrs would start for LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, or Alabama? Heck, they would probably sit for Kentucky and South Carolina.

Taylor led the SEC in receiving yards. Rogers was 15th, Briscoe was 23. Not too shabby for your first three.

Taylor was third in receptions with 73, just four behind McKinley for USCe. Rogers tied for seventh with 53 receptions and Briscoe not far behind in 13th with 49 receptions.

Pretty good stats for wrs that can't play for anyone else.

ok, and that's fine. we were the east champ, no argument. but you're just going to have a hard time convincing me that we're "better" than FL.

it is what it is. we won the division, they didn't. but they beat us.........like a drum.

when all else is in doubt, the scoreboard doesn't lie. if nothing else, FL can say they didn't lose to us.

like i said, it's not that i disagree with that.......but really......59-20, and now by virtue of losing the SEC title game, we can now say we're better than FL?

i just can't get there.

The standings are what matter jake. And UT is ahead of Florida and UGA in the SEC East.

exactly......GA is not even in the discussion. as quick as i tell you 59-20, i'd tell any GA fan 35-17.

funny thing about scoreboards.......
